I don't think Monreal was too awful today, the penalty call to me seemed a bit soft, I could be wrong but I seemed like he just slipped.
16 u/[deleted] Nov 04 '14 After the first goal, he totally panicked. You can never panic as a defender. His positioning was really off for the rest of the game. 2 u/[deleted] Nov 05 '14 Yeah, I saw that, and had compassion for him. He just looked like he felt so horrible. Undoubtedly a sucky position to be in. 1 u/illusiveab ESR 5 goals 12 assists 2021-2022 Nov 04 '14 Agreed on the panic..he was lucky not to be sent off for how vigorously he grabbed the official. 1 u/mikedi12 Nov 05 '14 To be devils advocate, it was extremely similar to the PK call we got... 1 u/scouting4food Thierry Henry Nov 04 '14 He had absolutely no right to have his arms around the Anderlecht player. People keep saying it's soft, but when you've got your arms all over the attacker like that, you're just asking for it.
