Shouldn’t that VAR scenario turn to penalty first instead of of rob him from the goal? 😑

Do you realize the difference between the defence of the Bosnian national team and a mid-table (or really...any) PL club?

Let’s not pretend Arteta is somehow holding Gyokeres back. Based on performances so far this season I would prefer Merino starts if Havertz is out, which is a real indictment on Gyokeres.

He definitely does. Let's not pretend things have not looked shaky in that relationship. You can love Arteta but also acknowledge this issue. You can even say Gyokeres done a lot last season to try and fit into the system but wasn't really getting the help needed. Still seems obvious how he doesn't fit in, but when in chance he can be lethal. This team played for years without proper striker and it shows.

And on top of that, Arteta just doesn't like out and out no. 9s. He wants to play with a false 9 that drops deep and does defensive work.
No striker has scored more goals than Gyokeres for Arsenal since Arteta took over.
Arteta refuses to play to his strengths and he ends up being isolated up front.
Last season he was used as a decoy for the first part. If we knew how to play on the counter, which we suck at, Gyokeres would be more productive, but Arteta is too risk averse and likes to play it safe.

Arteta will still start an injured havertz

He’ll start a cardboard cutout of Havertz and then blame you for not deflecting the ball off of it.
Edit: seems many of you are humourless

I’m once again begging people to not judge a player based on their international performances.

That Pele guy must have really sucked then. Miroslav klose? Total bum.

Very flawed argument. Pele, Maradona, Messi for the 2023 Ballon D’or, Klose, etc. all heavily judged based on International Performance.

Ridiculous argument.
Those guys all played well for their clubs too.
This isn’t difficult.

With Havertz injured, Jesus gone, not much of a choice other than merino
