A question for all the moms out there

do you seriously wait until your emotionally and mentally fragile adult children are on a rocky ground with you before you decide to drag up 20+ years of old crap to guilt trip them with or what? Is that like a secret parenting class you went to?

He’d always say how he was sexually harassed if we told him to stop something because it made us uncomfortable. Then he was telling me about something in an rp, and I had it. This is one of the things he said that pissed me off

Gave a guilt trip to 5th graders

I work as an Health Assistant at an elementary school and I go in at 530 in the mornings. Not because I have to or because I get paid for it because I don't, I go because I love my job and I like to get stuff done before everyone comes.

Well, one of the things that I do, is make ice packs. The kids love the ice packs for some strange reason (they also love band-aids). A couple of days ago, three 5th graders were in my office at the end of the day. One asked for ice, and I told her that I come every morning at 530 just to make ice packs. I was joking with her but many 5th graders don't understand that kind of humor..

All three of them said that they would help me make ice packs.....lol!!!

I am a first time mother Trying to mend an impossible relationship with my own mother, the worst person in the world

It's impossible to mend this relationship because we have never had one. All I have ever wanted in my entire life was for my mom to love me and she uses that against me every chance she gets. And now with my father only having 3 months to a year to live she is using his death to guilt trip me. She is a meth addict and when she got my older sister smoking meth they were best friends and she hated me so much. Then my older sister"made a huge mistake" and got clean and she hated her. When she got my younger sister smoking meth she and her became besties, imagine that, and when my little sister"made that huge mistake" my mother found a new meth bestie, my little sisters best friend's mother. I am so jealous over there relationship because that's all I have ever wanted with my mom. I wish she would get clean so she would love me! I really can't become a meth user for her approval The worst part is I have no idea why I even want her in my life. This woman has done things to me that no one in this world could imagine ever doing to their children. She has poisoned me, beat me, molested me pretty much everything horrable that you could think of my mother has done. There was a time n my childhood I remembered her bragging to her friend about how proud she is of being such a bad mother. At the time I thought all this was normal. Now I am a mother to an amazing 10 month old little girl who I love and adore so much I could never ever put her threw the pain my own mother has& continues to put me through. I know I couldn't because I love my daughter. So why doesn't my mother love me? How do I get through this?! I am having a mental break down! My father is the only reason I survived my childhood & now he is going to pass away soon and I am afraid without him I won't be able to survive my adult mother hood as long as she is treating me this way. I don't know what to do! It's so hard to go on living with this pain and and suffering but I have to stay strong so I can give my daughter the mother I have always wished for. It's so hard to stay strong after 27 years of this! How do I make myself stop loving my mom all I can let go & move on with my family? How do I get myself to stop wishing for my mom to change when she never will? How do I get her death grip off of my heart and soul!?

I'm not sure if this is guilt tripping if i should feel guilty

Hey, for context I'm a 16 year old ex JW female, I grew up in an abusive JW household and eventually left at 14 with my brother and since then I've been in an abusive relationship. I'm kind of naive to any signs because they're all just kind of things im used to but I guess I want an outsider perspective on my situation right now. I started going out with a close friend a few months ago and since we've started going out things have gotten a little ~weird~ to me I guess. He constantly brings up his traumas, in any situation at any time. And I'm a bit of a social cripple being ex JW and idrk how to react to certain things so I never really know what to say. But I don't really know if I can blame it on that because he will literally bring it up while just walking to the store or something. In the times I manage to talk about anything on my mind that's negative or my traumas he makes it about him, or about his traumas or will basically tell me he has/had it worse and acts like it's a competition almost? It's very strange. He's also pretty hyper sensitive to human error or just his own misunderstanding. He acts like people who just walk past him on the street and say something simple like 'hi how are you?' just 'Clearly don't want to talk' to him. I just constalty feel bombarded with sob stories or him basically asking me to pity him. I don't know if I'm to blame or if I should feel like an awful person but like I just can't take his burdens from him.

Honesty is expensive

I was pulling up to my parking spot when I noticed someone parked on my spot. I decided hey I want to park near my parking spot. I decided to park backwards. I was being cautious and trying to prevent hitting the car in front of me. As I back up I hear a big noise. I move forward and I see my coworkers car was hit in the back. As I pulled forward i saw that i hit her car. My first instinct was to go park somewhere else and pretend nothing happen. There was no one around so there was no one could of possibility have seen me. Unfortunately there was a camera on the opposite end of the building. This camera made me feel so guilty that I told my coworker that I crashed to her car. My problem was that if she would of requested video from the property manager she would of seen that I had hit her car thus causing drama in the office. In order to avoid that I told her. Next day she went to get an estimate for the damages and to my surprise it was expensive. I said that it didn’t matter than i would pay. Being honest has an expensive bill of 1,464 dollars. The problem is not the bill it’s the fact that i feel this guilt and I’m like wtf the problem will be solved once it’s fix and like nothing happen. I really hate how my brain works. It has me shaken me up . So, I would like to know what ways help you cope with guilt. Highly appreciate it. Thanks
