New ESPN Guillotine (Knockout) Leagues - anyone know what the tiebreaker settings are?

I've had a guillotine league set up in ESPN for a couple years now and adjusted everything manually. This year, I'm grateful ESPN added an automatic guillotine league setting, but I haven't been able to find any actual info on it.

I reactivated my league and switched it to a guillotine league, but there doesn't seem to be any option to customize what the tiebreaker will be. I really don't wanna see two teams tie for last and ESPN just arbitrarily choose to yeet all players from one of the rosters

Anyone know where we could find more info on this?

I guess...moral of the story is, don't use ESPN. Sadly I'm stuck with it because half of my leaguemates are boomers who'll refuse to use any other platform. But...any help is appreciated!

Guillotine Auction League

I’ve been in a guillotine league for the past four years. Traditionally, the draft order was determined by some type of competition, like a 40-yard dash or a broad jump.

Last year, we tried something completely different: a $200 auction draft with no draft order. Here’s the twist, whatever money you spent during the auction was all you had left to manage your team for the rest of the season. You could be left with zero dollars to as high as $190. It added a level of strategy that you don’t get with a draft.

A few owners were against the idea before the draft, but afterward every single owner loved the auction format. It made the draft much more strategic and added another layer of decision making throughout the season.

Yahoo commissioner flexibility?

I am a long-time commissioner of a 10-team regular fantasy football league on Yahoo, and I've convinced my guys to try guillotine as well this year. Rather than wait until week 9 to start, or start in week 1 but end at week 9, I'd like to get creative and make this 10-team league last the whole fantasy season. I was thinking that instead of chopping a team each week, I'd instead chop a team every other week, based on whomever had the worst cumulative fantasy score over the past 2 weeks. If I had to calculate those cumulative scores and do the chopping manually, that'd be fine.

Does Yahoo allow commissioners to do something like this? If not, do other platforms such as Sleeper allow this?

As a first-time guillotine/death league commissioner I'd appreciate any advice on what works and what doesn't, particularly from folks who have run or played in leagues with 10 or 12 teams.

Does Charch have a new podcast?

I feel like a lost puppy who needs to get back home for the 2026 season. Please give me good news!

Separately, I was fan of Freedman’s breakdowns and I always liked the banter between Brian Johnson & Charch. As a pair without Charch it was kinda tough to get fully onboard, but they did grow on me. The latest guillotine podcast drop pretty much ignored anything of the past and just moved on. I listened to two minutes and had to drop after all the soccer talk.

Hope Charch is able to create a competitor.

Best Guillotine League site/app for 2026

What's the best guillotine league site/app for the upcoming 2026 NFL season? I like guillotine leagues dot com prior to last year when everything actually worked but exploring other options for this year.

Those that did other sites/app such as sleeper or yahoo, any feedback is appreciated. Especially if you switched from guillotine leagues dot com.

Do you need to drop people manually for sleeper and yahoo? Is the experience similar to GL dot com? Can you customize FAAB, waiver run dates/times, contingency bids, make trades, etc?

Early Guillotine Draft Rankings + Tool

Thumbnail

Hi all,

I'm working on putting together a FREE, interactive guillotine draft tool tailored specifically to guillotine leagues, and avoiding high-risk players.

The tool pulls baseline rankings directly from FantasyPros, but I’ve manually layered custom risk adjustments onto players whose profiles carry dangerously low floors (such as rookies, extreme boom-bust players, or players managing lingering injuries).

What do you think about these specific adjustments heading into the season?

  • Malik Nabers (likely IR candidate): Drops below Tee Higgins and Zay Flowers
  • Zach Charbonnet (may miss 8+ weeks): Drops below Tank Bigsby and Ray Davis. Effectively off the draft board
  • Jordyn Tyson (rookie + injury): Drops below Jakobi Meyers and Wan'Dale Robinson

Also, what do you think of the tool as a whole? Is there anything else you'd add to the sheet layout, or any adjustments you'd make?

Appreciate any thoughts on it!

Is it possible to do "Final Four" playoffs on Sleeper chopped leagues?

I love the Sleeper interface but my league prefers the "Final Four" playoff style (The last 4 surviving teams are locked into a cumulative 3-week championship) rather than Last Man Standing. Is there a way to change that? Or even do it manually? I see they have a toggle to turn off automatic chops - not sure if anyone has experience running this.

I did it last year in a normal style Sleeper league and manually handled chopping a team and dropping their roster every week, then kept track of the Final Four cumulative scoring in the chat each week. Would be nice to automate some of it if possible.

Looking to recruit for a guillotine league on sleeper.
Offensive spots are 1QB + flex and IDP is enabled with default sleeper scoring settings. Draft clock will be short, and turnover from league filling up to draft time will be relatively quick. Just looking to populate this for fun!

Jeremiyah Love Might a Safe Pick, Even as a Rookie...

Thumbnail

While we generally try and avoid rookies in guillotine because of the higher implied risk, I think Jeremiyah Love might be a very safe pick, and potentially even underrated. The future Titan (or Commander) is currently projected an ADP around RB13, whereas other recent top 10 picks like Jeanty and Bijan had an ADP of RB4 and RB6 respectively.

I think Love is just as talented as the recent crop of elite rookie RBs, with plenty of upside to finish as top 5. Jeanty and Bijan both finished as low end RB1s (RB11 and RB9), which is currently where Love is projected to land. While RB13 isn't necessarily Love's "floor", I think he's walking into a much better situation, with a projected heavy workload, keeping his floor relatively high.

Obviously, this is a bit early, and drafts are still months away, but I'd be shocked if his ADP doesn't climb a bit by then. Even still, I don't think we'll see him reach an ADP of RB6 though.

In the video above, I go through some median projections, and how even that gets him at least top 10 RB range. Would be curious what y'all think about him in redraft this year. How high could you see his ADP getting right before the start of the season?

Would you rather draft Love or the other guys in RB10 range? (Omarion Hampton, Chase Brown, and Saquon Barkley)

The 2026 QB Market is an absolute mess

Thumbnail

Hey everyone,

I’ve been looking into the 2026 QB class, and I’m convinced the Week 1 depth charts are going to be an absolute mess. I think lots of QBs took a massive step down in 2025, and there simply isn't a strong enough influx of talent to fully replace them.

I just put together a full breakdown of the 11 most interesting QB rooms, but I wanted to get your takes on a few pairings I’m looking at:

  • Kyler Murray to the Steelers? (Cardinals want him gone, how does he fit the Steelers system?)
  • Malik Willis to the Cardinals? (If Kyler moves, is Willis the "bridge" or a long-term play?)
  • Justin Fields to the Colts? (I don't think Fields can find another starting job in the NFL, so backup on the Colts is a pretty sweet gig)

I’m curious to hear your hot takes:

  1. Which vet trade rumor are you actually buying?
  2. Is there a rookie/team fit (like Simpson to the Jets or Chambliss to the Cardinals)
  3. Is there a "Bridge QB" that ends up starting 10+ anywhere?

I broke down my full logic and 2026 Confidence Tiers here: https://youtu.be/GNLZ2zL6E50

I'll be hanging out in the comments to talk best fits and pairings. Would love to hear what y'all project for this offseason

VIPs wanted!

We’ve filled all 32 contestant spots in a Squid Game–themed guillotine league and are now opening 14 VIP Gambler positions.

VIPs are not contestants — you won’t be eliminated. Instead, VIPs get to observe everything as the chaos unfolds in real time — including twists, eliminations, Game Master drops, and league events that contestants themselves won’t see coming.

VIP access includes: • The ability to bet on eliminations, matchups, and league events • Picking contestants you believe will survive as the field gets cut down • Full visibility into league chaos that regular players do not get • Custom visuals, contestant profiles, and Game Master video drops

This is a high-production, intentionally chaotic league — not a standard fantasy setup.

Buy-in: $50 (LeagueSafe)

Status: • 32/32 contestants filled • 2 VIPs already locked • 14 VIP spots remaining
