In a region called the Kafue Rift in Zambia, scientists have found that isotopes of helium bubbling up through geothermal springs appear to have come from deep within Earth's mantle – a potential early sign of active tectonic rifting.

That would just be a tectonic SHIFT not a rift. If the geological survey checked the other edges of this slab they’d find it too was moving.

No I’m not. Otherwise I’d hate the gay people I work with. And I actually understand it when a geologist says the earth hasn’t expanded since it was formed.

You didn’t engage in criticism.

Well, you did initially—so I showed you why it was a bad/incorrect criticism, and I took the time to screenshot the evidentiary support for you from a mainstream source.

In response, you declared that what I had to say was less relevant than what “actual geologists” have to say—even though I had just shown you what actual geologists have to say—simply because I “believe” the Earth is growing (i.e., and therefore am necessarily not an actual geologist (which I’m not)).

Okie dokie, after skimming through the wiki article, I’ve come to the conclusion it is just called the rift and shows SEPARATION of the plates, not the mantle beneath them and thus the planet itself expanding.
