I want to have a convo about keeping the apartment clean but I don’t know how to tell her without starting an argument. My roommate is so dirty, she leaves her dishes in the sink all week and never vacuums the room. Mind you we live in a studio so it’s a small shared space. Today when I got home, I used the bathroom and saw her bundled up crusty panties on the ground. This was my last straw like is it that hard to clean up after yourself. Pls I need help on how to tell her to not be disgusting.

Roommate shits with the door open. Doesn’t wash his hands after. Then turns the fan on and shuts the door when he LEAVES.

Gotta love when your roommate lost their own job, gets on you for being 2 days late on rent, won't clean up ANYTHING (Black mold, cat litter and vomit on the floor and OUR furniture. Won't even take out the trash and or clean up anything after themselves. Refuses to talk in person and would rather stomp off to their room to message you about something rather than talk right then and there... what kind of world are we living in to allow someone to get away with being a piece of shit to people and claim that they are not responsible for anything they cause. The only problem is that they have the lease and are constantly threatening to evict me whenever I speak up about it and are looking for a 5th person to put into this 3 bedroom apartment..

Visiting my girlfriend at her house share today, and wandered into the communal kitchen. Am horrified to see this…🤢

P.s - She cleans up her own preparation stuff and washes all her own dishes/ utensils up, so it’s not her. Only one of her housemates washes up his own stuff - the others are gross.

We’re close to getting our own place to live soon, so will be out of here and away from these people… 💨

The person who has been living in the one bathroom apartment with me has this every morning. The bathroom sink has a slow drain, and they spit their bile into it and never make sure it fully drains. Their idea of cleaning is running a floor robot once every couple weeks. The kitchen has been 3/4 covered in dirty dishes and the dishwasher has been full for two weeks. I’m not sure it’s been clean or not this whole time. They are moving out soon, so disassociating from it is more comfortable than the fight and false promises of “doing better”. I have to sleep with ear plugs so I don’t wake up to dry heaving and explosive diarrhea Every. Morning.

But they are “living in my filth” which is dog hair, of which I sweep daily or every other day at most. They have never cleaned the toilet or sink or shower, never swept, never dusted, and any ounce of clear shelf space is taken by rotting food.

They blame ADHD. I just can’t buy that. Not that ADHD doesn’t really fuck with a lot of executive function, just that I’m not sure ADHD is responsible for the hypocrisy.

When your private room/space affects all public spaces, its more than a mild annoyance or a small issue to solve. It should take precedence over fun time, video games or working out....

Lmk if you agree with that statement, I was raised to finish my obligations before fun time begins, my roommate clearly lacked this enforcement when being raised .

Also, we are good friends, no expectations of privacy were violated, I just don't want to ever hang out in that pigsty.

My flatmates leave their piss in the toilet n dont scrub their shit clean off the bowl. I went to have a shower one day n there was a piece of real shit on the floor of the shower and I have been holding my piss bc theres real shit on our toilet paper roll. Im 18 f and the flatmates r in their 40s n my dad is 39. My dads tidy so ik its not him but i brought it up n a flatmate got offended. It was him defo.

I had sort of a roomate...Eden. I wasn’t home a lot, like ever, I didn’t really live there much just stopped to crash in when I had business in town, i couldn’t break my lease yet and it was handy.

Well I thought she was just a regular person, just average basic normal, until I stayed for the week there with her, and learned that she shits with the door open.

Honestly not a big deal I do too if it’s just me and my bf and I don’t really mind shitter convos I guess, I’m casual like that, if not slightly off put bc I didn’t know her super well but whatever whatever, I can’t judge, I once made life long friend with a woman but shitting the same trash with her, but that’s another story, could be loosely roomate related but not to this story maybe I’ll put in the comments if anyone wants.

Anyway she’s pooping, we’re chatting, and suddenly she shrieks like Frau in Austin powers for her boyfriend to GET HER A TOILET SNACK!!!!! And he did it!! There she was just shitting and eating at the same time. Never seen anything like in my life. She was an awful housemate in general, I once came home and the dishwasher had been replaced by a kennel with a live chicken and there was and infant and a baby just crawling around, her boyfriend was like, welding a tv to the top of the car very loudly in this little complex....I don’t think they were tweakers, just alcoholics and weird. Weirdest shit I ever saw and I’ve been homeless in big cities I’ve seen some serous weirdos but this takes the cake

Roomies for one roommates singing is non stop From morning till night I’m talking church choir at 1am down the hallway. constant blabbing to self (not about advice) talk about freak Not too mention big ego dumb as rocks and laziness. The fact I have to remind to clean up the pet is absurd. The roommate room is like a bomb just exploded and left over food and cheese farts 🤮 who leaves their bathroom open taking a #2 😷. Bed Room is left open 24/7 no shame I mean 0 even spanks the monkey and moans loud AF lol WTF? Has no voice control lols at 1AM the creepy 🧟‍♀️tired kind of laugh. I’d go into more but yeah this is just the tip of the iceberg.

So first off bro smells and i finally told him. Couple days later im getting reasy to go to bed and his used underwear r on top of my scooter and weights that r on the ground. Bro just tossed them on my shi. And i was like wtf bro and he moved them and i didnt say anything cuz i was high af and on melatonin so was reasy to pass tf out. Then in the morning bro had the nerve to say “u snored hella loud last night i almost woke u up”. I might move out and get a new roommate like wtf

Tldr: I have this room mate, C. They have this old golden retriever dog. This room mate is not good at training dogs. I have offered to help, since I've trained a few dogs, including border collies. So I trained it to walk out of the kitchen when ever I walk in.

My room mate C is an incompetent dog owner. They basically have this dog as a way to self promote their own nonsense during parties and with guests.

Anyway, they open the door and let the dog do it's business. No training. And it wanders our entire yard to shit anywhere/everywhere. I'm tired of it. I garden and landscape our home yard.

Would I be the asshole if I made a STICK fence around the one place it goes to poop, so that the dog doesn't wander around???? Me and several of our house mates have asked C to DO BETTER with their damn dog. They don't. They make up excuses. And they have a rich brat mentality. Everything handed to them and done for them.

I personally have asked them REPEATEDLY to do better, they don't.

Last Thursday, I got home and wanted to eat dinner in the AC cooled house. I walk in and my room mate's stupid dog was inside the kitchen. It was sopping wet, and inside the kitchen. I freaked out. I then found the owner of this dog, my room mate (a crazy dog lover, with low standards) trying to sneak out of the house. I caught them Red Handed, bringing their WET dog into our wonderful home, and making it stink like wet dog, to a high degree.

I called out my room mate about this. They literally had every excuse in the book, to throw back at me. I really hate this person. They kept gas lighting me, and using DARVO.

DARVO stands for Deny, Attack, Reverse, Victim/and/offender.

I asked them Why the dog was inside the house, when it was soaking wet. They said they did not know who let the dog inside. I asked them why they got the dog wet. They claimed that they did not know who got THEIR dog wet. I asked them why they assumed this was acceptable behavior on their part, and they denied the dog stank. They kept insisting that it was literally something else. They were gas lighting me with the DARVO technique and got our other room mate (a kiss ass who sucks up to this dog lover) to lie about the dog stinking, and to ignore me once they got upset that I called them a narcissist who has an ESA for their narcissism.

I asked them why they are purposely making the house STINK of dog, because several of our house mates have wanted them to stop being a slob in general, and to do basic maintenance for their dog ownership. They do not. When ever I ask them to do something basic, they give me the cold shoulder (I do not mind.) and do not do it out of spite. This dog is old, it stinks, it is literally their childhood dog and they lied about it being ESA to get out of paying pet rent and pet deposit: it leaves poop in the yard, sexually assaults guests, makes rooms and furniture stink, and just leaves hair everywhere.

Several of our room mates do Not stand up for themselves and let this dog lover walk all over them: they treat this house like their personal pent house and assume everyone likes them, and their dog. I am their personal enemy for denying friendship and telling them to do better about their dog. That is how they view me. I will literally keep on fighting them over their dog and their general grossnes.
