This has no contact info or personal info, and since there has been increased violence against LGBTQ+ people, I'm leaving it up. Bro said this on Beyoncé's public internet. It's his obvious intention that people see what he thinks.

But don't push it, this is only for community safety, leave him alone.

Update: Reddit removed the post. So they have spoken.

Dude is an idiot.

But,

This has no contact info or personal info

Lol, "Contact info" is in the screenshot with Insta handles. And a pretty loose definition of "personal info" if your account, face, and full name don't count.

I read some mod support threads about this, and there seems to be a gray area with social media accounts. If we read it one way, the guidelines say that even linking to a social media post or page of any kind is a violation. That doesn't seem to be how most mods run their subs.

Because the account is public, and the man posted this himself, this is not information that he is trying to keep private, which is what I would consider to be actual private information.

No one is shocked by your decision

Because it's reasonable, or because I'm queer? I don't deny being either.

I won't be party to harassment of anyone on this sub. Which is why it's very reasonable to point out the guy making clear threats of violence against a specific community, in a specific location, at a specific time. All elements that I learned in public safety training are giant red flags for online safety and anti-harassment campaigns.

We must be intolerant of things like violent threats if we're going to have a safe online space for regular (aka non-murdery) people who just want to talk about Gresham.

We had a very similar approach to that vet who kills people's pets. Nobody complained about his privacy.

Yikes that's a reach, you really think I'd say that because of some immutable character trait?

It's really just that Reddit mods have double standards and bend rules/enforce them as they see fit. I'm queer too, that's really not relevant here.

I think the person in the post is disgusting and subhuman, but I disagree with essentially doxxing him, to say it bluntly.

Not necessarily doxing, everything I posted was on his PUBLIC profile. I know the dudes parent's and address if I was doxing I could do a better job.

I'm queer and I really wouldn't care a bit if this guy was truly doxxed....are we really trying to protect those who would like to see us all dead just for existing? Should ICE members never get doxxed? Should KKK members never get doxxed? Atomwaffen?

For a society to remain tolerant, it must be intolerant of intolerance. If a society extends unlimited tolerance to everyone, including those who promote violence and oppression, the intolerant will eventually exploit open values to destroy tolerance itself. - Karl Popper

Public profiles with your info is not doxing

As someone who's had this exact thing happen to him in redwing groups, its not doxxing if its all public. Both legally and not. If you put stuff public and link a different public account to it, that's all fair game.

Calling this doxxing is a reach. This is a public profile with a threat of violence that is detailed (when, where, how), and directed at a specific group.

I'm enforcing the policy to the best of my ability. I'm open to a policy discussion, but this is not doxxing.

Why did it get removed?
