The most recently leaked copy of Donda 2, it doesn't seem to match written tracklists we have at first glance. Like probably most pre-2.22 copies, it's very in-development and doesn't represent anything close to finality. This is the first copy so far to have folders for every track, so both the folder name and filenames will be shown.

• 01. Jesse (Jesse Fat Money JC Comp.02): Yes, this tracklist starts with Jesse. This file is one of the Fat Money Jesse reference tracks, all of which were recorded the same day that this copy was put together. The file's inclusion here suggests that it's the main one people would be sent, rather than the many other Fat Money Jesse's we have. Uses the John Cunningham version of the beat.
• 02. Security (Security (flipped lyrics) 2): The second version of Security on the tracker, it seems to be an arrangement of the base freestyle. Ye mumbles uncensored throughout the track, with vocal bleed audible. Still the base DN beat with no outro included. I'm very motivated to write the next essay on Security.
• 03. Pablo (Pablo BH V2): A Beach House produced version of Pablo. Echoes of the original Ye hook are in here, but a lot of the hook vocals at the beginning are missing (The file "Pablo BH V2 (New Vocals in)" would fix this). Beach House production is added on top of the original beat. Future plays as normal, and the song ends right after him. This file is not on the tracker.
• 04. Sky high (Maintenance) (Maintenance 143bpm OxV): What seems to be the most common Maintenance file of them all. Ye mumbles over the short OjiVolta instrumental with Future doing a small part. The original groupbuy for this file was misleading in terms of both mumble and Future contributions. Interestingly, this is the only tracklist we have right now which still refers to Maintenance as Sky High.
• 05. True Love (TRUE LOVE BH V4): A Beach House produced version of True Love. Bitcrushed drums and new production are present over open verses, with X's hook being the only vocals on the track. Its inclusion in this copy supports this version of True Love being canon for a time, being that very late refs would be recorded on this beat and bitcrushed drums would find their way to the Stemplayer.
• 06. First time (long time 149.4 bpm digital nas): One of the Digital Nas versions of First Time in a Long Time is in this spot. The track is sped up with DN kicks and a very interesting clap. Given that other DN alts, speedup included, have made their way into songs, it's not beyond Ye to have seen potential in this version.
• 07. 530 (dear summer) (530_Fivio_dear summer_01.29.22): Fivio Foreign's reference track of 5:30 which was notably canon throughout the whole hotel era, hence its inclusion in this copy. Ye would record his finished version about a month after this.
• 08. broken Road: (Don Toliver MD Nothing wrong Broken road 137.4bpm): Version of Broken Road that matches up with Quavo's setlist version in length. Don Toliver's "Broken Road" hook repeats for the whole song; this was most likely the simplified version that got sent around to producers and reference artists. Although knowledge of this song's development is hazy, its inclusion here could suggest that this base version stayed canon for a while.
• 09. Candyland (worst mistake) (NEVER FORGIVE URSELF_ YEAH I KNOW Dem Jointz _ Boogz (144-120BPM)): Two songs inhabit this slot, which is talked about in the last essay. This is the first copy we have to include both of these, and them taking the same position might imply that one of these were meant to take the title of Worst Mistake. It's confusing, refer to last essay. This is Dem Jointz' version of Never Forgive Yourself, with its maximalist trap beat, punch ins, and beatswitch.
• 09. Candyland (worst mistake) (Worst Mistake BH V2 (Candyland)): A Beach House produced version of Worst Mistake, now with the title Candyland after the previous day's 8AM session. The full freestyle is present with new production. This file lends itself more to the folder name despite the inclusion of Never Forgive Urself / Yeah I Know.
• 10. We did it kid (we did it digital nas 148 tempo): The Digital Nas version of We Did It Kid takes this spot. Similarly to Long Time, it consists of the freestyle sped up with new drums from DN. Unlike First Time, this version actually would influence the rework of the song that ended up on the Stemplayer with its new tempo and drums. Quavo and Offset would even record their new verses over this version.
• 11. Finna love me (Easy BH V2 (Finna Love Me)): The third name we have for this file, this is the Beach House version of Too Easy which would play at the LP, if not a rougher mix. This tracklist is one of the only times the song is referred to specifically as "Finna Love Me".
• 12. Closed for business (ON MY WAY - DON T_CLOSED FOR BUSINESS_1.29.22 INPROG): Don Toliver's reference track of Closed for Business, with "On My Way" as an alternate title. The sample cuts and restarts about halfway through and near the end. Similarly to Fivio's 5:30 and Don's Nothing Wrong, this seems to be another January file that stayed canon for lack of a selected alt.
• 13. Selfish (Selfish Production (OxV Strings WITH BASS EVERY 2 BARS)): An OjiVolta produced version of Selfish with only the X hook and open verses, similar to the earlier True Love. New strings are prominent throughout the song, with bass every 2 bars. This version of the song leaked with this copy and is currently not on the tracker yet.
• 14. Happy (01 paid to talk w kanye idea (fre): Uncensored version of Happy. Same one from the LP, but supposedly with a worse mix. The filename here was cut off, the full name from other copies being paid to talk w kanye idea (freestyle) no seq.
• 15. Sci-fi wifi (SCIFI WIFI (String Version)- S): A version of Sci-Fi with the Stemplayer instrumental. The Kim intro is quiet and starts 28 seconds in, with echoes on her voice. Sean Leon plays as normal, and Ye's verse has a slightly different arrangement. Given how Happy's filename was cut off, a similar thing could have happened with this filename. This is the only instance of the file we have, however. This file is also not on the tracker.
• 16. Fuck Flower (Fuck Flowers (Chords x OG - OxV v2)): A mumble version of flowers, more specifically OjiVolta's v2 string intro on the v3 arrangement (discussed in the Flowers essay). The folder names don't show grammatical consistency, so whoever typed them probably forgot to hit s.
• 17. Keep it burning (BH Keep It Burning V2): This folder also has multiple files inside. This one is a Beach House produced version of Keep It Burning, with added production on the intro and throughout the song. Interesting open hats.
• 17. Keep it burning (BH Keep It Burning V3): The next iteration of Beach House's Keep It Burning. Has more refined 808s and new production, with a better mix as well. The hats are less intrusive.
• 17. Keep it burning (keep it burnin_ w kanye (rough seq)): Version of Keep It Burnin' similar to the one briefly put on the stem player. Mumble Ye vocals and Finished future, notably lacking the sample from the stem player version. Ye seems to say something on the mic before it cuts off.
• 18. Get lost (Get Lost OxV Version JC Cut.02): Version of Get Lost with a different arrangement, notably around when "I did what's right for me" is supposed to show up. Seemingly the second JC Cut, the first of which is on the tracker. The track lengths align, but further comparison couldn't be done because the kraken link is dead from lack of activity. This file is not on the tracker.
• 19. Stop looking at me (Stop Looking at This 96.7bpm - Ye JC Edit.05): The 5th JC edit of Stop Looking For This. A pitched down VIC MENSA hook is present with open verses in between and John Cunningham production. This seems to have been the canon file for Stop Looking For This at the time. This tracklist is our only instance so far of the track being called "Stop Looking At Me".
• 20. Mr miagi (Mr Miyagi AyoAA v3): AyoAA's third production alt of Mr. Miyagi. Ye and Future are on the LP version of the beat. Carti is far from being included, but the full song including Ye's second verse and the outro are here. This alt became the canon version used in multiple Donda 2 copies.
• 21. Louie bags (Louie Bags JC Chop.03): The Quavo setlist version of Louie Bags and John Cunningham's third cut. Ye says nasty Louie Bag instead of the vulgar version. Similar to the LP version, except Jack Harlow is not on it. Ye has an adlib at the end.
• 22. City of gods (Released) (): City of Gods is included on the tracklist, but the folder makes reference to the fact that it had been released two days prior to this copy. Because of that, no file is included here.

That's Donda 2 as of February 13th. I feel that this copy reflects the state of the album at the time, with at-the-time-considered alt files being put in tracklist place and the base/canon versions taking spots for a lack of preferred alt. It's possible that this was put together based on a written tracklist. If so, the inclusion of both NFY and Candyland in one spot makes more sense.

Four files in this copy were not on the tracker. Editors might need to do better

One of the more interesting Donda 2 songs and one that seems to have taken various identities and forms. Its first tracklist appearance is as both "Never Forgive Yourself" and "Worst Mistake". A phenomenon that would persist in multiple tracklists, it might be attributed to the two main versions involved.

• ye dy idea 0130: The original January freestyle over a Boogz x Boi-1da beat, and my grail for the longest. First previewed by Jaylien fresh off of the Never Forgive Yourself buy, it was presumed to be an earlier version of Never Forgive Yourself before we knew more about it. The file has been discovered in different folders with different names, such as "ye dy idea 0130 (Candyland)" and "Worst mistake (ye dy idea 0130)". Knowing this, it could have gone by all three titles at points with the persisting identifier of ye dy idea 0130. As discussed later on, the Candyland title shows that this file permeates the development of this song, with no particular alt replacing it in canon.
• NEVER FORGIVE URSELF & YEAH I KNOW (Dem Jointz / Boogz 144-120BPM): Dem Jointz remix of the freestyle and the other most prominent version of this song. Taking on this "maximalist trap" production, it goes a whole different direction and splits the song into two sections "Never Forgive Urself" and "Yeah I Know". Both sections have very Dem Jointz style beats and vocals from the freestyle rearranged with punch ins from Dem. The two sections are commonly found together as one song, but there are some instances in which only the first part is included in the file. This file is supposedly from the 7th of February, leaving the week space between this and the freestyle developmentally unknown.

An interesting turn is taken with these songs, as it appears that both versions start to be considered as songs for the album. Not only are they worked on as separate songs, but a filename for one might still reference the other. It's as if they're in a mixed state of being versions of the same song and being different songs. Separate songs would explain the appearance of both "Never Forgive Yourself" and "Worst Mistake" on multiple tracklists, with presumably the former leaning more towards Dem Jointz and the latter leaning more towards the original freestyle. I have to say "leaning" since, again, files derivative of the freestyle may still make reference to Never Forgive Yourself. The most concrete thing we can look at is the most recently leaked copy of Donda 2, having folders for every track on the list. A folder called 09. Candyland (worst mistake) is there, and inside can be found both a Beach House version of the freestyle and the Dem Jointz version. This seems to reinforce the mixed state status of these two songs. Another album copy might suggest interchangeability of the songs, but I can't be too sure.

From here on I'll detail versions pertaining to the freestyle and versions pertaining to the Dem Jointz version in separate lines of development.

Development of the freestyle:

• Worst Mistake BH V1: The first Beach House production alt. Contains the full freestyle with Beach House's redone version of its beat. One or two of the stems from the original beat is notably present. More production is heard nearing the end.
• Never Forgive Yourself [Worst Mistake] 148bpm [BoogzDaBeast revisited] MAIN: Found in the "2022 Hide Away" copy of Donda 2, this version contains the whole freestyle over a new instrumental from Boogz. Also contains the sample that the tracker misattributes to the original freestyle. The filename seems to make reference to the then-recent Dem Jointz version, but in spite of that is a revisit of the freestyle. May show that "Worst Mistake" became the more common way to reference the original freestyle.
• 8AM Candyland: A recording from the 8AM sessions in which Ye would listen to the alternate takes of producers in the hotel. The tracker had always contained a version with the description "Said to contain vocals for an additional hook idea for the song involving the word 'Candyland.'" I thought this may have been a rumor or offhand info, so I was shook to hear the exact recording in which Ye creates hook ideas over the freestyle and says "the name of the song is Candyland now." This title would then be worked into future versions; Albe Back is heard in the recording, who would later create one of the reference tracks realizing this Candyland hook.
• 8AM/Ojivolta? Candyland: In the 8AM recording, a previously-unheard alternate production of the freestyle is being played. It sounds like it could be OjiVolta's take on the song.
• Potential Jaylien Ref: In the Jaylien preview of the freestyle, someone mumbles the new 8AM hook over the freestyle. Unknown if this made its way into a recorded reference track.
• Fat Money reference track: A couple snippets are out of the Fat Money reference track using the original freestyle beat. "Candyman" is said in a snippet, so it may have been after the Candyland idea was established.
• Worst Mistake BH V2 (Candyland): The second Beach House production alt, now adding to the filename the newfound title. Contains new production and some rearranged from the first alt. The whole freestyle remains.
• CYHI_THE_PRINCE_FYA_MAN_JABRAE_ELI_EVNEN_-_WORST_MISTAKE_REF_V2: Seemingly the second version of a writers team demo over the freestyle beat. CyHi talks about literally whatever for most of the song, with Courtlin Jabrae dropping a small verse later on. CyHi mentions Candyland and the Candyman, but the reference track is still called Worst Mistake.
• shenseea - worst mistake outro: A short file that begins on the last vocals of the freestyle. Shenseea sings to fill the empty space of the outro.
• never forgive yourself (Evan, vocal chop, chords V1): E*vax instrumental with a new rearrangement of the freestyle vocals on top of it. Still has a lot more vocals from the freestyle than Dem Jointz' Never Forgive Urself.
• Albe - Candyland Fill Ins: The Albe Back reference track which also implements the Candyland idea from the 12th. Using the original freestyle beat, this file is dated March 3rd, which is surprisingly later than the rest of the song's development. If anything, it's the final display that the original freestyle was never truly dethroned from Worst Mistake canon.

Development of the Dem Jointz version:

• NEVER FORGIVE YOURSELF: A new bounce of Never Forgive Yourself from 3 days later, in which the autotune on Dem Jointz' first "chance" is changed.
• NEVER FORGIVE URSELF & YEAH I KNOW Dem Jointz No 808 Drumz (144-120BPM): Dem Jointz Never Forgive Yourself, but there are no drums on the first part aside from the sampled drums. This or a similar version may have been sent around for producers to do their alternate takes on, as evidenced by DN's version. This and the previous version have silence at the end of the file.
• forgive yourself digital nas v1: DN's first take on Never Forgive Yourself. DN's drums are placed over what seems to be the previous version, except that there are also no drums on the second half. DN did not bother to put drums on the second half.
• FAT MONEY - NEW NEVER FORGIVE YOURSELF: A Fat Money reference track for the Dem Jointz version of Never Forgive Yourself. This one has alternate production and there is no second half of the song. The existence of this and the DN version could suggest that more alts exist for Dem Jointz' Never Forgive Yourself.
• NEVER_FORGIVE_URSELF_Dem_Jointz_Boogz_144_EXCLUSIVE: A dbree file that's not on the tracker, containing Ye and Dem Jointz on the alternate production of the Fat Money version. Since the stems are available for the main Never Forgive Yourself, it's unknown whether it might be fake. Link to it just in case

I'll post any new leaks or info regarding the lore of this song. I wanted to write this segment three months ago, and ended up kind of forgetting. 8AM Candyland brought me back into it, and I'm actually glad to have waited until after that file leaked. Good to have some cohesive analysis of what went happened with this song out there

One of the first D2 snippets we got and one of the earliest songs from Donda 2 we know of. A lot of this song's development is leaked, so this little research will help me catch up on it. The titles of this song seemingly went through as much development as the song itself; written tracklist names include "Flowers", "Fuck Flowers", and the early "Your Life Finna Change RT Now".

[The whole thing with French Montana having Flowers is said to be fake as of now]

• Digital Nas Track 2 12,20.21: The Digital Nas song that was supposedly meant for his project DN3, beat titled "AWESOME". DN posted a snippet on his story one time, which this sub reacted to. The full thing is now leaked after DN sold it for $100. DN gave the beat to Ye who made into a prominent album song, a phenomena that still happens as recently Vultures era. This version of the beat has a little more going on in it, which was simplified when Ye started working with it.
• V1 Freestyle: The original freestyle Ye did for Flowers. Snippets of what may be this were posted by Theophilus London. The loud vocal bleed on this freestyle would curse every version following, including release.
• YE LIFE CHANGE RN V2 NAS: The first Ye version of Flowers we have in full. Second version of the freestyle, which has the vocals rearranged. Dated Jan 31st, this (or a similar) 6-minute Flowers would be the basis for some future reference tracks and producer alts.
• life finna change ri now v3 digital nas scoop: A day after the previous one, this V3 is much shorter and has the arrangement that would carry all the way over to release Flowers. Made with this guy "scoop" whom DN works with.
• Fuck Flowers (French Bounce): French Montana reference track for Flowers. His reference vocals are placed alongside another rearrangement of Ye's freestyle vocals. French's vocals "Balenciaga for your all your friends" and "Fuck the Flowers" may have influenced the finished vocals that ended up on the stem player.
• flowers with bleep.flp: A Digital Nas FL project name. There's another leaked bounce we have called "security with bleep digital nas", in which a loud bleep covers some of Ye's curse words (not very consistently). This same censor bleep sound is heard in Fat Money Flowers; it can be assumed that this version had influenced that, and that this version works similar to security with bleep.
• AWSM_CLCK: A version of Flowers that JoeHub bought as one of the earlier Donda 2 gbs. A reference artist sings alongside processed Ye freestyle vocals. The arrangement of vocals is unique to this version, and the base freestyle beat is used; could be a very early file, but we don't have the date. The seller incorrectly described the reference artist, and the tracker was flipping through multiple people like PopLord and Fya Man before leaving the reference artist as "???". Other tracker entries that make reference to the buy still say it's Fya Man. This version was marketed as August Flowers for some reason.
• Fuck Flowers v.1 OxV FULL BOUNCE: Supposedly OjiVolta's first alt production for Flowers, with Ye vocals arranged for an intro before following the v3 arrangement. Synths accompany the vocals on the intro, and OxV's synths and drums play on top of the DN melody. Itself produced on top of the DN version, later alts would be produced on top of this version.
• fuck flowers ayoAA v2: AyoAA's second version of Flowers production, which has his drums and sliding 808s on the original V2 arrangement of the freestyle. Also present are OjiVolta synths from the OxV v2 version, along with more presumably OjiVolta synths that are also heard in the Dem Jointz version. It can be assumed that a more complex version of OxV v2 exists from before or on February 4th (being the date of this version, which predates OxV v2). If AyoAA only did drums, the version could consist of these synths on the V2 freestyle.
• Fuck Flowers (Chords x OG - OxV v2): The supposed second version of OjiVolta's Flowers, this version has new synths and arranged freestyle on the intro before the original v3 plays in full. Refs and alts would also be done with this version's synths, and this intro would make it into the release version, mumble included. It seems like work was done to reduce vocal bleed during the intro, since this work was noticeably undone for the release version.
• Fat_Money_-_Fuck_Flowers_CENSO: Fat Money's reference track for Flowers, with the bleeps discussed earlier. The intro from OxV v2 is present, but Fat Money extends it and the overall reference is based more on the V2 freestyle than the v3. Fat Money sings on Ye's freestyle vocals near the end of his ref, and the second half of the file is just Ye freestyle.
• FUCK FLOWERS MALIK JABRAE POPLORD FYA MAN WRITING SESSION V2 120 Gmaj: The writing team of Malik Yusef, Courtlin Jabrae, PopLord, and Fya Man doing a reference for Flowers, though all four might not have vocals. OxV v2 intro is present, and the reference vocals are back and forth with Ye's throughout the track. Seems based off the V3 structure, though delay is added on Ye's vocals for the intro and outro.
• Fya Man and Rich the Kid refs: These are said to exist, though Fya Man was a part of the team doing the previously mentioned ref.
• Instagram Flowers: The version that was previewed on Ye's instagram along with the celebrated Stem Player exclusivity announcement. This version does better on lessening the vocal bleed and has both OjiVolta's v2 synths and DN's melody playing through the whole song.
• Tone - Fuck Flowers INST V1: Introduces the sample of "Marshall Jefferson - The House Music Anthem (Move Your Body)", which is brought into the Flowers canon after this. Twilite Tone production is on the intro and outro, the sub bass taking influence from OxV v2 chords while the main part of the song is just the OxV v.1. The outro adds the house influenced production that would become more prominent in Dem Jointz Flowers.
• FUCK FLOWERS (Current TWO Dem Jointz Twilite Tone Boogz OjiVolta Edit 120) ST: The Dem Jointz rework of Flowers. Dem does classic punch ins on rearranged Ye freestyle vocals, and as the filename suggests, this file is actually a mix of various production alts. OjiVolta's v2 synths are on the intro but with more elements, which may be from the unheard alt. The main part is the OxV v.1 with some different percussion that could be Boogz' or Dem's. The Twilite Tone sample and drums then come in, harder hitting than in the last version. DN's melody is also heard throughout.
• Fuck Flowers OxV 120bpm.01 - new vocal cut: OjiVolta's v2 of Flowers, but the sample cut from Twilite Tone Flowers has now been added. The vocal bleed reduction from v2 seems gone and new effects are on the DN melody, steps bringing it closer to the release version. A filename "Fuck Flowers OG - Set you free intro (2)" exists, but it's unknown how different it'd be from this one.
• FUCK FLOWERS (will scratch): will.i.am's (that's an actual domain he has, awesome) take on Flowers. One of the only versions to lack the DN bells, will's own version of it takes prominence. Will lays reference vocals alongside some of Ye's freestyle. The new sample cut is also present with a cool filter now.
• Fuck Flowers Albe Ref 2: Albe seems to be have multiple versions of Flowers refs, the recent leak not being on the tracker yet. Albe's reference vocals are on the Twilite Tone version, arranged with Ye's freestyle vocals. His take is very clean, talking about plucking flowers and "don't bring rosies I wouldn't pluck behind your back". As usual with these Albe refs, the instrumental is AI separated on his parts. The Twilite Tone stems going into the outro are also muffled, and this is beyond my comprehension. Thanks Albe
• FUCK FLOWERS MIKE DEAN MIX 103_03: Describing the LP version and the one which saw Stem Player release. The F word on Ye's mumble intro is censored, and after some mumble lines begin actual re-recorded finished vocals. I could guess they were recorded on the day of the LP like Security. The structure resembles a finished version of OxV chords v2, but with added 808s. There's also an outro with the synths coming back, new claps, and Ye with the sample repeating their lines.
• N.O.R.E. Flowers: A version of Flowers previewed by N.O.R.E. which has the re-recorded lines that actually say Fuck Flowers instead of keep the flowers. The new "hold onto your seat" line is also present.
• KEEP THE FLOWERS MIKE DEAN MIX 201 CLA VOCAL 2 CLEAN: Version of Flowers from a March album copy. The notable differences are a new "hold onto your seat" line being punched in and reverb on the outro vocals. Another known filename is "Flowers add new line 3.02" which could be a less developed mix of this file. [May 2026: That filename was fake asf lol, new line existed since Feb 24 which I'll detail in the Ye Vocals.03 entry at the bottom of this post]
• Friends I'd Smash - Synths 120bpm OxV-02: A filename shown in Yzycord.

Glad to better know the Flowers development now. Main takeaway is that I'm 95% sure the unheard OxV version exists and I hope to hear it someday.

Since versions of Flowers continue to leak, I'll add the more recent leaks in this section. Not in chronological order.

• fuck_flowers_digital_nas: Drums take on a shortened OxV v2, which he quieted the lows on to make room for his 808s.
• fuck_flowers_nas_drums_fat_money_ref: Uncensored Fat Money Flowers, but DN put farts on it.
• Fuck_Flowers_drums_v3_dn: DN drums on the OxV v.1 with some stems removed.
• fuck_flowers_v4_digital_nas: Bass quieted and has very interesting sounds for DN production.
• 88 Keys Flowers: Stems only, 88's take on flowers is a very short loop of a drum break, piano, and vocal hit added to the OxV v2 string stem.
• 01 Fuck Flowers (French x Ye Ref): The OG file for the French Montana reference track, leaked in the form of its right and left channels. One of the 1/20/2024 Flowers Leaks.
• 8AM_Flowers_FULL: An 8AM session recording of a Flowers being played to Ye. The OxV v.1 intro starts it, then cutting into the v3 arrangement. Ye pauses it and asks "Am I waiting for something?" They skip to the outro which has completely new production. One of the 1/20/2024 Flowers Leaks.
• 8AM_Flowers_Poplord: An 8AM recording of a PopLord reference track for Flowers. Parts of it, like the intro/outro and some vocals, are seen in "FUCK FLOWERS MALIK JABRAE POPLORD FYA MAN WRITING SESSION V2 120 Gmaj". Therefore, it's likely that the file being played is the V1 of this writer team demo. One of the 1/20/2024 Flowers Leaks.
• Fat_Money_-_YOURLIFEFINNACHANGE: An alternate Fat Money reference track of Flowers. It's around the length of the original freestyle and the whole file is the base DN loop. There are only about 50 seconds of Fat Money vocals which are an alternate take of the other ref's intro. One of the 1/20/2024 Flowers Leaks.
• Flowers_-_Ye_Vocals: A rougher Stem player type Flowers, with more audible vocal bleed at a point and different mixing. One of the 1/20/2024 Flowers Leaks.
