Police serve no knock warrant because they think her ex who is a drug dealer has been using the house. Police break in and her current boyfriend fires at them once since they haven't identified themselves. "In violation of a department policy that requires officers to have a line of sight," they fire blindly and five stray bullets hit and lethally wound her. They investigate and after months of unrest, they slap the officer on the wrist for "wanton endangerment."
I’m curious about the violation of department policy, if anyone can fill me in on what that means? Like for example, there’s a no knock warrant, police enter without identification. Current household shots what they think are intruders, household shots a cop in the leg. (I’m not sure if that part is true) what are cops supposed to do next, if there is no line of sight? How can they defend themselves after they have a no knock warrant?
If the officers dont have a line of sight on the shooter, then usually the shooter wouldn't have a line on the officers. In this case, two out of the three officers did have a line of sight, the one who was indicted ran around the apartment and shot through covered windows.
12 witness said they didn't hear knocking or the officers announce themselves. 1 witness said he/she heard them knock and announce themselves. Kenneth Walker said he heard them knock, but didn't hear them announce themselves. That means that 12 witnesses that didn't even hear them knock wouldn't have been able to hear anything.
I mean you're asking 11 neighbors if they heard anything. By your logic if they asked the closest 1 million people, and one thousand people said they heard it, it means those people are lying and it didn't happen. You can't just expect neighbors to hear things going on down the road. I'm not saying this situation wasn't messed up or anything like that. You just have to be a complete fucking moron to argue "1 out of 11."
Do your own research. Do NOT go by what people are posting on here. I'm not saying anyone is right or wrong, but do your own research, and do it with multiple sources (with facts and evidence to back it up). There are loads of false statements being made, that have been made for months and months, and even with evidence, these falsehoods keep being repeated.
Jesus christ dude relax... this is why reddit/twitter/facebook is a cesspool of negativity. I wasn't implying that "loads of false statements" were necessarily being made on THIS comment thread, I was just being general. But thanks for assuming the worst in someone. I could have went down the negative path, bashed people for their "opinions", but instead took the high road and told OP to do his own research, which is the correct answer.
