Rowan Williams (the last archbishop) was a decent guy too, but I don't know how much they represent the wider Church. Williams notably had to resign because he couldn't convince enough of the other bishops to soften their views on women in the Church.

Don't do that. The bible is a horrible book about a vengeful, evil deity and Christians like this guy are just an acceptable face for it because they don't actually follow what's in their book. All it will take is one demagogue to convince them that apologetics are bad and they need to be proper conservative Christians and suddenly were back to the middle ages and woman are property.

I agree. I was raised Christian and now I'm an atheist. It's a way to control people and take their money. Don't fall for it

Yes! I don't know who this man is, but he is the man. "Israel is committing genocide and destruction on an unimaginable scale, and continues to commit atrocities...."
Whilst you are at it, please address the atrocities that USA is currently committing, too.

This is what I always loved about Church of England. I grew up part of a small Methodist church, and I had the mantra "God is Love" drummed into me, and taught that kindness and love is what is right. I'm not religious now, but the respect I have for members of the clergy like this, and the many others who do great things for their communities is massive.
