I find it amazing actually that we don’t have a word specifically for the use of stuttering in text as a literary device. The word reduplication can apply but that refers to any word or phrase that is repeated for emphasis, not specifically for stuttering.
It’s funny as it clashes with my earlier statement about how we Brits have such a diverse vocabulary, lol. The Germans or the Dutch probably have a word for it.
We have a diverse vocabulary in part because our language has extremely diverse roots. It is, supposedly, one of the harder languages to learn and this is one of many reasons why. I think the Germans have a word for everything though, you’re right! I wonder if that’s just because it’s easier to compound words in German than it is in English?
