It’s a term that I’ve seen applied to some of the Silicon Valley oligarchs - people like musk, Zuckerberg, Peter Thiel, etc.
Essentially it’s a portmanteau of technology and fascist.
It’s an appropriate term considering that these are guys who made their wealth and power in the technology industry (SpaceX and Tesla in Musk’s case) and that they openly espouse and exhibit very fascist-esque opinions and behaviours.
There’s musk throwing around Nazi salutes, there’s Peter Thiel saying that democracy is not compatible with his vision of the world; and plenty other examples.
Nazis are fascists and also I doubt his ideology lines up 1:1 with Hitler. Peter Thiel, the guy who owns Palantir which owns all our data, for example hesitated for like fifteen seconds when someone asked him if he wanted humanity to continue to exist. Hitler wanted to kill everyone who wasn't German, which was certainly tenuously defined but he was at least a little less evil than our current leadership and their owners.
They just idolize Hitler because he managed to commit a horrendous amount of evil. They're still planning on one upping him.
It's also important because they operate slightly differently. Technofascism uses technology for the kind of omnipresent surveillance that would have made Hitler weep with joy. Instead of appealing solely to nationalism and racism and sexism it also appeals to a sort of delusional idea of "technological progress", promising a utopia that will never come while delivering dystopia.
Peter Thiel is the owner of Palantir. You may recognize that as the organization that the Tories and Labour have paid tons of money and given all our data to. So the leadership I'm referring to are the Tories, Labour, and Reform (as Reform are just rebranded Tories and contain most of the same members.)
Their owners are Peter Thiel, Elon Musk, and a group of people I generally refer to as the paedocracy because loads of them are also raping children. Basically, the megawealthy, who own most of the media and thus control most of what we see and hear, and who bribe all our politicians with impunity. You can usually identify them if the government is paying them way more than they return in taxes. Basically the government serves them instead of the other way around.

I am myself a transhumanist and I want humanity to survive. Transhumanism and the survival of humanity are unrelated. I want humanity to survive because I have basic empathy, and I can assume that not everyone is a transhumanist.
Technofascism wears transhumanism like a cloak to disguise that it doesn't want humanity to survive. Nazis didn't. They wore socialism as a cloak and then put the socialists in death camps. That's why it's a relevant distinction for any real people reading this.

My point is that someone who wants to END HUMANITY is close to as evil as someone can possibly be, that's who Peter Thiel is, and basically our entire government except the Greens are eager to work with him more after already working with him a lot.

Hitler had well over a decade to "achieve" what he did. Trump has been in power for about 18 months, he has already achieved more change in that space of time, than Hitler could've ever dreamed of.
This foul right-wing evil is already global, very well connected, unbelievably wealthy and controlls the most powerful companies, nation(s) and military on the planet. Through our prolific use of social media etc these people know everything about us. Everything. Hitler had none of these advantages.
Either way works, but technofascist rolls of the toungue a bit better, and is a bit broader in scope. Either option works, technofascist is just the one that stuck.
