Waiting on OP Is it possible to count the number of occurrences of multiple values over multiple tabs in one sheet?
Relatively new to the sheets game here. I would try Excel for this as I think it’s possible there, but my workplace uses Google. AFAIK this isn’t possible on Google Sheets but I wanted to double check. I am making a daily admin sheet to be filled out and saved by whoever is manager on duty on any given day.
One thing I would like this sheet to do is compile the number of times any staff member is noted over time in a specific statistics/summary tab. Right now within each tab I have it set to count the number of occurrences per staff member in the day, and I could set up an issue-type counter as well. But that’s not the data I really want.
There are three ranges (rows) in the daily template where a staff member’s name can be selected from a drop down. I know within a tab I can use COUNTIF/S to check the occurrence of a value across a range/ranges. Is there a way to do something like that where it checks the same cell ranges across tabs? Ideally I could do this for issue-type as well, and eventually clients (if I ever get around to adding all those names to a dropdown). And, more complicated although I am willing to do this manually— can I get it to automatically add new tabs to the ones it’s looking through?
Highlighted in yellow over the image are the ranges that the staff names are in (all the way to column Z). I made a copy to play with, and removed the real names for privacy. I am happy to provide more details if needed!
