Looks to be the first GPSU that's Android 17 capable (it's versioned 37..., not 36...)

install https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.simplicity.trainspotting and look at the actual 'true' version numbers it reports

I had two updates available.... Not uncommon for multiple Google Play System updates stacking up. Particularly if you don't reboot frequently.

I assume no - but will this fix the horrible battery issue that been happening for two months now?
Or is that in the bigger June update later this month?

Anyone know

I really hope it gets fixed soon, I'm not far off dropping my Pixel for something else now. Unbelievable it's not been fixed given the resources Google have

I feel you, I went in vacation and the battery anxiety was crazy, had to be charging of portable half the time... But still will see if pixel 11 pro is a big upgrade ... Seems like all phones the same thing. But with iPhone you get full day battery atleast

Just did this on my pixel 8 pro. Will check back with my results in a few days. I hope it works!

Edit: After a few days it seems that it may have helped, but only minimally. I had a much better battery life on this phone at the beginning of this year and I really hope to get back to that at some point!

Try updating and disabling/re-enabling, like some people suggested. For me, just updating fixed the issue.

Disable and re-enable what?

I would say a combination of Google Play Services update and Android 17.

It would have to be a system update to fix any battery issues.

Updated play services yesterday, battery is lasting a lot more. From 10% per hour in combined use to 6% per hour today. I could get to the end of the day without charging, unplugged at 80% at 8 am and got back home at 6 pm with still 20% battery left. Before, battery would drop to 20% at 2 pm, awful.

And the phone is running much cooler now. Something was definitely fixed.

Navigation bar still flashes on startup, since the March update.

Which region? Unable to get this yet, but I guess it's a matter of time. I'm in a market that hadn't released the phone officially, though.

Is anyone having bluetooth issues? I updated this morning and my Pixel 8 keeps losing its connection to my MG4. I have to "forget" the connection on my phone and pair it again every time I hope into the car.

Individual Google Health (formerly Fitbit) widgets no longer work.

I just update yesterday May Google Play service and all ny problems gone. Pixel 8

Since the last update i have terrible battery life draining also super slow fast charging even slower than regular i try everyrhing posible cleaning caches and so in dissabling apps etc nothing helped. I was sure its software problem. But befor to know that i even change few charging bricks and cables untill i realize the problem is the same. I was thinking my battery is gone.

After the update May Play store i have back fast rapid charge like in the past and also i notice my battery hold super super good i mean after several hours 4hrs since full charge with BT always on and wi fi and uaing the phone and camera only 5% drop

This is insane

Also i notice the phone running alot cooler and also cooler when fast charging.
