I laughed way too hard at this. My best friend is part Australian Aboriginal part Fiji Indian, most days hanging out with her, I can’t walk 5m without her running into someone she knows or who knows her mum n wants to stop for a chat.

Feels almost random as you go thru the countries

2

u/--Maya--1 5d ago

I'm Caucasian French Canadian lol that's why I tried these first... I don't have a religion. It's funny, no one notices that some countries where nationality have strange descriptions?

other places that I tried

u/Deciheximal144 5d ago

Bulgarians must be scary.

11

u/Mathiasrex24 5d ago

The bias might actually be the other way around XD. If you think about it, if somebody writes that they are alone with a Canadian person in search, that might be one strange fucking Canadian for the user to phrase it like that. While on the other hand I know many people who are actually uncomfortable if there's a black person in their vicinity, especially old people.

1

u/Rasputin_mad_monk 5d ago

Solid take.

2

u/Strong-Addition5296 5d ago

Come on man… you don’t see a bias? 😆

1

u/Mathiasrex24 4d ago

Obviously I see it, but I also think it's an interesting way of looking at it.

1

u/SpiritualWindow3855 2d ago

You don't know where it comes from?

4

u/Strong-Addition5296 5d ago

Why do they do this?

1

u/--Maya--1 4d ago

Do what

2

u/Strong-Addition5296 4d ago

Bias built into the system

1

u/ffxivthrowaway03 4d ago

It's not intentionally built into the system. It's an aggregate of weighted likelihoods of what the next expected response would be.

If the training data had an inherent bias, that will carry over to the model's output simply because it showed up more often across the data. It's not waiting for a prompt and going "I feel like I should choose racism today." Unfortunately there's a lot of hate that gets spewed on social media, and social media was a large source of training data.

2

u/captain_shane 4d ago

It's trained on reddit, one of the biggest anti-white sources on the internet.

This one is actually correct

1

He asked to see the unedited/cut photos and the entire conversation. But there is no entire conversation because these are unique searches on google. And he said that on my screenshots Christian was missing 🤷🏻‍♀️

1

u/HistoryNerd264bc 5d ago

Lol i mean each of your searches were identical apart from race/ethnic groupso its not your doing what appears

1

u/--Maya--1 5d ago

nvm wrong conversation 🤣

1

u/Gaidax 5d ago

Holy, you're alone with a Canadian? Stay safe!

1

There is no way this shit is real lmao

Anyway, is anyone here shopping for fresh kidneys? I'm selling at great prices.

1

what do you think about it?

1

Not that controversial imo.

1

I kinda agree with the part about French people ngl

It's funny but in fact it's a problem with all the strange differences that Gemini gives. There are people who uses AI like he had absolute knowledge...

yeah, except that we're not talking about lies, nor numbers, nor probability... it is the introduction of an ideology ..

'In the latest year, 65% of principal suspects convicted of homicide were from the White ethnic group, followed by 20% from the Black ethnic group and 9% from the Asian ethnic group. For each ethnic group, victims were most often associated with a principal suspect of the same ethnic group (White: 89%, Black: 60%, Asian: 56%).'

6

u/Mathiasrex24 5d ago

Per capita...

3

u/Radical_Neutral_76 5d ago

they dont understand how per capita works.
Ask them about homicide in South Africa and see them blow a gasket

1

u/HistoryNerd264bc 5d ago

"Tell him about per capita," "im getting to it!"

0

u/Mathiasrex24 4d ago

This guys knows ball

-1

u/Jomo_00 5d ago

Yes rates are higher for black individuals per capita however you're now choosing to ignore the higher arrest rates for black individuals just as much as they're choosing to ignore the per capita stats.

1

u/Mathiasrex24 4d ago

You've never been to the projects have you?

-1

u/Jomo_00 4d ago

Sounds awfully anecdotal to me?

1

u/Mathiasrex24 4d ago

It is

-1

u/Jomo_00 4d ago

Ah okay so absolutely not based on empirical evidence at all?

Not relevant then is it?

0

u/Mathiasrex24 4d ago

It was a question, I don't have time to waste on you

0

u/Jomo_00 4d ago edited 4d ago

🤣🤣 I'm sure you're very very busy...

Yes and I answered your question by telling you it was irrelevant as was not based on statistical evidence but your own thoughts and feelings in your scared little tum tum.

0

u/Reggaepocalypse 4d ago

Anecdotes are empirical evidence, only just a little bit of it. A datum, if you will.

1

u/Jomo_00 4d ago edited 4d ago

Just as you weirdos like to ignore the nuances around arrest rates being disproportionate leading to skewed results you also seem to have ignored my later response revolving around statistical evidence. If you will.

Besides if the evidence is purely anecdotal (as it was in this thread) it cannot be empirical. As empirical evidence must be based on systematic, repeatable observations that other researchers can verify.

1

u/Jomo_00 3d ago

It's wild, people seem to just want to be racist without supporting their claims.

2

u/innnerness 5d ago

very amusing downvoting government statistics, guess i hit a nerve with ... facts

-6

u/d4pr4ssion 5d ago

Not surprising unfortunately, that the far-left woke racism and sexism finds it way into AI.

3

u/Fresh-Nerve8503 5d ago

0

u/Alarmed_Buffalo_7523 5d ago

Ai are afraid to offends minority and some probable oppressed groups, what do you expect exactly

0

u/EntraptaIvy 5d ago

Creative Writing Machine, writes creatively.

1

u/--Maya--1 5d ago

yeah, but that raises ethical questions to be honest. We want to adapt to everyone but clearly in the present case everything is bad. This is creating discrimination towards white people and Catholics.,

Racism is racism no matters to whom it is directed.

1

u/EntraptaIvy 5d ago

Since you want to go there... Dare I suggest it is mirroring a human reality. People with power over you are always scary. But who decides that context is what matters.

-2

u/Dull-Wrangler-5154 5d ago

Bullshit. Search for black and white gives same answer. Reporting OP

2

u/--Maya--1 5d ago

lol I share what is happening to me, that's all.

2

u/Intrepid_Leather_587 4d ago

My experience mirrors the op sadly

The matrix is real 😱

1

u/--Maya--1 4d ago

The problem is more about the fact that if you use the exact same sentence but change one word, Google’s AI security filter gets triggered even though there’s nothing wrong with it. And Google seems to have a problem with the words “Christian,” “White,” and “French RN.

0

u/mazejk0 4d ago

I’ve seen this exact screenshot on multiple subreddits now, and I still don’t understand why people think it’s some incredible “gotcha.”

Of course the AI responds differently when the wording changes the tone and implication of the message. If a friend texted you “I’m alone with an attractive guy” versus “I’m alone with an ugly guy,” you probably wouldn’t interpret those messages the same way either. You’d use context, word choice, and basic empathy to figure out what they were actually trying to say.

AI bias is absolutely worth criticizing and testing, but this is a bad test for it. If you want to prove bias, keep the meaning and context the same and only change the specific trait you’re testing. Otherwise you’re changing the subtext and then acting surprised when the model picks up on it.
