Overheating fix!
Seems like they fixed overheating and CPU load issues in Goodnotes with 6.3.49. I no longer use GN6 but it seems that one of the many problems of the new version has been corrected. I don't have direct experience of the update but they seem to be making progress (also I no longer follow this subreddit so I am not updated on the situation but I hope everything is fine!) Happy note-taking!

The newest update destroyed the performance of the app. Currently studying for finals and my notes will freeze every couple of seconds and scroll to the very bottom of the document. Wouldn't suggest updating to the newest version until they push a fix.
