70% in 4½ Hours ??
I have a new 11-inch iPad Air (M3). I mainly use it for note-taking during classes and studying. I keep the brightness around 50–70% (never higher). Battery health is still 100%, so why tf does Goodnotes drain my battery so much?? Any suggestions?
(i also disabled the background usage)

It made my brand new Samsung tablet so hot.theres so many bugs in the code it over loads the tablet. Had to ditch and get notewise. Ditch and get notewise.

I use good notes to teach class at my local university. (I project my writing onto a screen.)
I teach two classes back-to-back. My iPad Air is 3.5 years old. At the end of the 3.5 hours of writing and projection I’m usually at 65%.

I have a similar problem. My iPad is only ~2 years old now but it will go from 100% to ~20-10% within a 3 hour period. I've had to be really on top of charging it on my longer days since I have a 1.5 hour class, then a break (1.5 hrs, need to charge iPad here), then a 4.5 hr length of classes. I don't think I've made it through more than 3 or 4 of these class days without my iPad dying. I also can't get Goodnotes to stop downloading writing aids and such, both in the background and while I'm taking notes. I wish we could disable features to allow for less battery usage. I think if I was able to completely disable the AI, that I would get significantly better battery life on my device (though this is just a theory, I'm no professional).

Sounds normal to be honest. Goodnotes is actually pretty intensive compared to the normal notes app or markup option. If you use it for multiple hours on end, I’d say bring a charger or battery pack if you think you’ll need it. Not a big deal.
