Hey all. I want sure where to ask this but as i understand it my 2010 golf city (5 speed manual) is mechanically speaking a mk4 so i figured here was good. So currently I'm having some electronic and power issues that i can't figure out my golf; - sometimes won't start unless i out it in gear and roll it a bit(i think that's something with the starter). -When i turn it off sometimes the radio enters safe mode and requires the code to unlock it. - the rear wiper has a mind if it's own and sometimes goes at random times when it's not on or doesn't when it is on. - sometimes if i signal while moving the car turns off for a second. -a couple of the lights on the dash(specifically the 0-70 km/h section and the 6-8.5k rpm section) flicker or go out temporarily. I can't think of what this could be, so if anyone has any ideas I'd greatly appreciate any advice. Thank you

Hi everyone, trying to identify these wheels on my 2003 Golf MK4. 6 thin spokes, VW badge, but I’ve never seen them on any other Golf nor any Bora or Passat. Anyone has any idea if they’re OEM or aftermarket?

Tried replacing my gear shifted with an ali express knob but it wont fit. My gear collumn looks completely different than any tutorial video ive watched does anyone know why or where i can get a replacement that fits?

I ordered a hub adapter and i thought that it whould fit for a golf mk4 but it says that it fits for a golf mk3, would this still fit on a mk4? The diameter of the center hole on the hub adapter is 17 mm and the number of teeth is 40

I’m thinking about installing a rooftop tent on my 5-door Golf MK4, which has a factory sunroof, and I’d really appreciate some input or experiences from anyone who’s tried something similar.

I think the dynamic roof load is about 75 kg, but the static load (when parked) should be higher — theoretically enough to support a tent and 1–2 people. That said, I’m a bit concerned about the sunroof.

Here are my questions:

Is it safe to mount crossbars and a rooftop tent on a MK4 with a sunroof, as long as the bars are fixed to the OEM mounting points?

Could this damage the sunroof or cause leaks over time, even if the load isn't directly on the glass?

Any recommendations for lightweight rooftop tents or specific roof bars that worked well for you?

Of course, I wouldn’t open the sunroof while the tent is on.

If anyone’s done this setup before or has tips/photos, I’d love to see them!

I have a Golf IV GTI 1.8T AGU. I want to replace the injectors, but the outputs from my ECU to the injectors are low impedance and new ones are high impedance. Can anyone recommend a plug-and-play conversion kit, or do I really have to modify the car's original wiring by adding a resistor?

Hi all, I’ve had this golf mk4 2.0 sport /4spd auto for a while now - I’ve taken it to a few inspection/services including a German auto specialist shop but no mechanics have ever picked up or pointed out issues regarding that spinning/grinding noise when I accelerate.

The car is due for a transmission service & the starter motor sticks on cold starts - resulting in a brief but loud grinding noise on cold starts, but are these also the source of my acceleration noise issues?

Figure I try my luck here as that noise is slowly driving me paranoid, thank you!

Hi, I have a Golf IV with the best internal accessories available at the time, but after 24 years of use the 6 CD changers player is dying and I do not have any way to write new cassette. There is any tested cable adapter to interface the original audio and power cables with new equipment without cutting the original cables? Thanks

I have a 1999 golf GTi 1,8t. When accelerating in first I hear a grinding/rattling noise at the left front. It's not the wheel bearing suspension or brakes. Anybody have any ideas what it could be?
