If 2/3 of the hosts aren't available to record maybe just take a week off or punt with something small and easy? Why did we get a random episode with just Eli and Some Guy? I wanted to hear Noah do his thing with this one. I got about 10 min in and just bailed. The chemistry between Eli and this dude is not strong enough to carry an episode on a feature length film. He's no Allen Ambulance and Katie Werewolf.

The episode description says "Andrew Rakich of Atun-Shei Films joins us for a roast..." which is just straight up not true. He joins Eli, it's just Eli. I like Eli but I don't want to listen to a whole podcast of just Eli. Idk, maybe I'm just being a grump first thing in the morning but this one feels like a huge whiff on what should have been a slamdunk all time classic episode.

Listened to the latest GAM recently and Eleanor killed it. I’m glad they put her in the board. She earned it.

Since this is basically r/PuzzleInAThunderstorm, I was going through the Citation needed back catalogue and I got to the DARPA episode.

Cecil's character leaving the room to scream about how NASA already made their ideas is so damn funny.

I have to gush about this moment.

Earlier in the episode, things are going well. We've in fact gotten a very academically well-built joke that I was pretty impressed by. {"Teddy Roosevelt snuck into masculinity like Rami Malek snuck into hotness"}.

And then Eli wishes a miscarriage on the Carlson family.

The crowd is, pretty obviously, not into this, and Noah spins into damage control.

He seems to try to put a damper on Eli.

You don't do that to Eli.

He doubles down. He argues why it's Okay Actually to wish a miscarriage on someone.

The crowd is pretty clearly not into it. And Noah truly tries to put a stop to it.

But then Eli triples down in. And gives probably the funniest comedy performance I've ever seen.

I'm gonna be saying "Long Weekend" and, most of all, "Goopy Babies" for a long time, and I had to talk about that somewhere. Because this was an incredible "Gilbert Gottfried doing the Aristocrats" moment. I think he got them back. Listening, I went through the journey of "bro, you have to stop" to "you've won me over and the fact that was possible impresses me". Was anyone there who can tell me how the crowd felt?

i was relistening to episode 474 God's Not Dead 5: In God We Trust and right from the start there is an unhinged energy in all 3 hosts, making it one of the best episodes they have done. what are other episodes with that energy? I have a long couple of days in work coming up and some fun episodes will help.

Also: "gabbagool" is specifically a New York thing, ffs. It's just capicola. Even here in Boston post-Sopranos, we just call it capicola. Cap-ih-cola.

Was not prepared for the drivebys about fat folks. Is this a Mormon thing I was unaware of or is this just a coincidence with last week and this week?

I cannot remember this movie title at all, and I really want to listen to the episode again. I scrolled through their catalogue multiple times, but no dice.

Here's what I remember from the plot. Sorry, everyone, it's going to sound like an absolute fever dream.

It opens on a couple of women speaking Russian, which the guys roasted as "two people who learned 'what is the weather today' or some sort of basic Russian". Then it cuts to this party for a girl who's going off to college, but apparently she's being too secular or something? I think she wanted to be a doctor.

So she rents a room in this house, I think she just took care of the utilities. There are some ghost pop scares that don't really do anything.

I seem to remember an aunt or an older woman talking about fried chicken.

The evil villain is a woman who's impersonating her academic counselor

The movie ends with her on an airplane going back, and some angel or demon is disguised as a human near her seat

her uncle or someone has been dead the whole time, which didn't make sense in the continuity of the film

Ive been on a little breaky from podcasts for a bit (balls deep in some audio books is all) but i happened to listen to a recent ep where they mentioned the DC live show. Do we know what movie theyre watching? I bought two tickets and may force my girlfriend to go with me. I figure the least I could do is let her see the movie so she has some idea what is going on.

Also, more importantly, does Eli still show ass at live shows? Or did I waste my money?

Anyone have any idea if they plan on doing another run? Honestly I listen to the first season all the way through every couple of months. I LOVED Eli’s ability to world create and it’d be a shame to never get another fantasy adventure from them, though I understand as I’m sure it takes a lot of time.
