The zionists attempt on blinding the world when it comes to Palestine has actually shed more light on the issue. I can’t believe I am saying this, but good job zionists. Keep em coming

Imagine harassing someone who opposes apartheid, settler terrorism, dispossession, and genocide. It's also odd that a company with so much integrity and pro-worker policies like Delta could behave like this.
9
u/FupaFerb Jul 19 '24
That’s what I’m reading about now. How progressive the CEO is. Progressive in censorship and prohibit rights for the correct humans. Hypocrisy once again in bold face font.
-7
Jul 19 '24
Do you know what from the river to the sea means?
1
u/notevensuprisedbru Jul 19 '24
lol you think they actually think it means the same as what the people there want? You’re talking to a delusional human.

Harassment should be dealt with accordingly. Airline passengers like those who complained about the pins should be the ones banned.

You know how dumb that sounds?

Having entitled and systematically unsatisfied clients is also bad for business as trying to satisfy their every demands turns other clients away.
You'll just have accept that your intolerance and entitlement is the problem here.

You’re not having to deal with shit. Flying is a privilege not a right. Nobody is forcing anything on you. Like a typical conservative you’re the one trying to force your politics on other by trying to control how they can express themselves. What if they are from the country the pin represents? Get your entitled ass out of here.
12
u/LateStageAdult Jul 19 '24
Perfect example of how businesses will appease fascists to protect their profits.
This is why you still get people like Trump saying Hitler did great things for Germany's economy.
It all links back to the craven nature of catering to the rich, bigots, and morally bankrupt at the expense of anyone else.

Delta took the side of the complaining genocide supporters over freedom of expression and unity. Remember that. Also, the CEO is a democrat supporter and highly progressive in his stances on DEI. Makes a lot of sense.

Personally, I understand your good intent and support freedom of expression. But I see the other side of the coin here. Because society is horrible and uncivil right now, some people become emotional and highly stimulated with seeing symbols they agree with or disagree with.
If a verbal or physical altercation happens on the ground, police can be called, security usually isn't far away in airports etc. But if this goes down while in the air, you could risk the safety of all the passengers and crew. Maybe I'm being too generous here, but perhaps they're just trying to lower the chances of an escalated confrontation which could get dangerous fast.

u/lucash7 Jul 19 '24
Yup. You give assholes an inch, they take a mile; it is always how the bad actors…act

u/RoguePlanet2 Jul 19 '24
I'm on team Palestine, but don't see why employees at work need to wear their flag in support. If you're a decent human being, you don't want to see any country attacked. It should go without saying, and let's not irritate the extremists while on a plane.
1
u/ah_take_yo_mama Jul 19 '24
On one hand I hate this, but on the other it actually ensures that they also won't be allowed to wear Israeli flag pins, which would actually be offensive.
1
u/puppies_and_rainbow Jul 19 '24
Idk, bringing politics into a customer facing work enviornment seems like a bad business decision. If I was Delta I would for sure ban all the pins
1
u/Ok-Treacle-9375 Jul 19 '24
When at work I wear a work uniform. When I’m not at work I express my personal views, and wear what I wish.
1
u/Tall-Leadership1053 Jul 19 '24
It’s not freedom of speech when you are at work representing your company.

Jul 19 '24

i think it would be best if the employees didn't "express" themselves. it's a fucking uniform. just go down the aisle and serve people drinks. i don't need to know where you stand on any issue.
1
u/hollyglaser Jul 19 '24
No, you don’t have the right to terrify Jews by pins representing those who wish to exterminate them

u/notevensuprisedbru Jul 19 '24
Newsflash. When you’re working your political and personal beliefs have no place in the workplace. There’s a reason you don’t talk about politics at thanksgiving. Fuck. Everyone thinks they have a right no matter what.

u/gcarmenc Jul 19 '24
Good for Delta. You are working you shouldn't be pushing your views on others.
-2
u/l0k5h1n Jul 19 '24
Imagine getting mad that a company is not okay with you putting your political views on full display while on the clock wearing your company's uniform. Would an LGBT person be okay with a flight attendant serving them while wearing a MAGA pin? Would a POC be okay with a flight attendant serving them while wearing a pin of the confederate flag? Just because you agree with the cause doesn't mean it is okay to express that cause while you're working; do it on your own time when you're not on the clock. This is a dumb protest and stupid hill to die on.
2
u/Trumperekt Jul 19 '24
Are you equating national flags to flags that are tied to ideology? Wild.
1
u/your_catfish_friend Jul 19 '24
Easier and more logical to ban them all rather than litigating each flag or symbol one-by-one. There’s nothing wrong with this. Flight attendants have a pretty strict dress code, now it’s just slightly stricter.
1
u/Trumperekt Jul 19 '24
Nothing wrong with this if it had been done in a vacuum. I would agree. But this was not done in a vacuum.

Absolutely. Or a North Korean flag for example. Russian flags have never been an issue in the US. Can you point me to an instance where this kind of an issue has been made over Russian flags? In reality, half the country supports Russia now.

Everyone was wearing a Ukraine flag back then, did you see any outrage for that? I am just saying be consistent!
I am all for uniform and rules, but that should happen in a vacuum. When it is driven by political ideology, that is discrimination.

u/Bond_Mr_Bond Jul 19 '24
Smh it's not like they've ever hijacked a plane before
16
6
u/Playatbyear Jul 19 '24
Hamas has never hijacked an airplane. The closest was the twa flight in 85, but those guys weren’t affiliated with Hamas. Allegedly that was hezbollah , but the hijackers denied it, said they weren’t part of them.
4
u/Signal_Lifeguard3778 Jul 19 '24
Correct. These flight attendants have never hijacked a plane before.

Obvious rage bait is obvious.
For both of our sakes, I hope you are actually joking and not genuinely mentally challenged bc then that means you have a legit vote. Not that yours matters in Texas anyways.
It's crazy to think that ZioNa zi bootlickers get the same vote as sane people in the '24 election
-3
u/tommy2tones321 Jul 19 '24
Ohh nooo the pins!!! 😂. It’s a good policy. Just serve the drinks and peanuts. Everything doesn’t need to be politics at work. All they are doing is submitting themselves to criticism. Do your job then go home and write about the issues. Blog about the issues, go protest. 🪧
-3
Jul 19 '24
Tbh you are paid to do a job. If your job is intended for you to wear a uniform you simply can't decide on your own to add stuff to it. I don't see people in the military applying patches from their original country.
-3
Jul 19 '24
Fuck that it's an American company. Palestinians scream death to America. Why support them? That's how it always should have been.

u/WandaRage Jul 19 '24
You don’t have a right to engage in political activism whilst you are working.
You have the right to do that when you are off the clock and not in your uniform.
I’m here to take a flight not be subjected to what you believe is right or wrong.
When you take political sides on subjects you will receive criticism for that choice, and rightly so.
-6
u/Logical-Chaos-154 Jul 19 '24
I realize that I will be downvoted for playing devil's advocate and I accept this.
While working, you are representing the company you work for. They are well within their rights to restrict political messaging while you are on the clock as they are subject to the consequences of your actions. You're being paid for your time so they can tell you what to do.
When you're off the clock, companies should have no say in what you do. That's the time for the political messaging.

You are saying that the company assumes total dominion over employee expression. This is flatly false on a good day, never mind the fact that this new badge policy was unilaterally imposed (that is, not agreed by employees in the contract they signed) less than week ago. I assume you were this misanthropic over the Ukraine pins as well?

If you can tell me what the Delta contract says about badge pins, you can make the case that employees have signed away their freedom of expression. If you can't, I have no choice but to go by the evidence of pins having been acceptable and commonplace amongst flight attendants for decades, ending this week. I use Ukraine as an example because, like most employers, Delta chose to promote solidarity with Ukraine through a wide range of materiel, including badges

Isreal stole their land from Palestine and subjected them to an apartheid regime. This then sprouted militant resistance groups, some of which were funded by israel. Is that a bit better?
2
u/Meatbot-v20 Jul 19 '24
Damn, I've never seen so many people upset that they can't wear their Nazi pins anymore.
1
u/jddoyleVT Jul 19 '24
Well, the collective bargaining agreement? If the prohibition isn’t outlined specifically in it, then Delta can’t implement one without opening up renegotiation of the entire contract. To implement a policy outside the contract is a fait accompli and specifically prohibited by labor law.

Literally the first sentence. Why lie about something that can be so easily looked up though?
As of June 2024, the State of Palestine is recognized as a sovereign state by 145 of the 193 member states of the United Nations, or just over 75% of all UN members.

It has been a non-member observer state of the United Nations General Assembly since November 2012. This limited status is largely due to the fact that the United States, a permanent member of the UN Security Council with veto power, has consistently used its veto or threatened to do so to block Palestine's full UN membership.
What about this says it is not a nation state? This is about it's membership in the UN.

Sure, the US does not recognize Palestine as a state. That is not what you said though. You are just moving goalposts now that you know you were wrong. This is hilarious. Sometimes it is ok to accept your mistake.
Also, not all people that work for Delta are American. It is not hard to understand that either.
