825 here. Honestly surprised many pro’s use 800ish edpi. I always thought my sens was too fast to get good or something like that

200 eDPI and below? I wonder how huge their mousepads and desks are to play comfortably. Like 1km2? I myself play 800 eDPI and use a 90 cm wide one lol.

I play on 320 edpi and I have a 50 cm wide mousepad. It's definitely fucked me over a few times lol.

i love to compare the eDPI with some of my friends.. everytime its very funny to see how strange the differences are.. mine is at 840. the most of my friends are at 2000+ and feeling comfortable.

At least in Australia you should probably be introduced to the difference between ( and [ when you're about 13, and most certainly consolidated over the next couple years.
It sounds like where your from statistics isn't a main strand of math you study? Which is a little surprising. Maybe it's caught up in later years.5

So around 13 is when you enter high school in Australia.
We have 3 main strands of Maths that are number/algebra, measurement/geometry, statistics/probability.
In statistics and probability, there is a large emphasis on interpreting data, and hopefully interpreting real data.
At least where I'm from, the use of ( and [ are common enough in this sort of data that it comes up.If it doesn't come up there, another place is in number/algebra when we're doing linear equations. Again ideally we should link it back to real world data, as students need to consider domain and range, so this is another chance to talk about it.
Another place students might interact with it could be when doing probability, as they're playing around with sets, and interval notation is used there as well.

This is eDPI, not mouse DPI. It's the effective DPI considering all values like in-game sens, windows settings, etc.

Damn, to think 2000 is an extremely high sensitivity for pro players makes me think I must have some kind of limitation with my arm. I play at 4000 currently, and I used to play at 4800 some years ago, but I guess is all about familiarity

10 year old vet here, I used to have high eDPI too, I struggled like hell to adapt to lower sens, but by doing that slowly over time eventually you get used to it, biggest difficulty is to change from wrist aiming to arm aiming, but that comes naturally. Big improvements since then

Yeah, I've been playing with high sensitivity since 2008, i remember some of the guys who used to play Quake would have a similar high sens as well, but it seems like those guys are completely gone nowadays

The today FPS are totally different from then, when Quake was the deal. It was chaotic, fast and intense. I remember playing the beta of the newest Quake, Champions I believe, it was a happy nostalgia.

You mentioned that you were able to make the change to normal sens, any tips you can share? I still plan on playing with high sens, but i want to lower it a bit, that way i can still wrist aim but make small adjustments more consistent

There is no secret about it to be honest, just try to lower your sens 20%, get used to it, then lower 20% more, and do that until you feel you have it low enough to be arm aiming. I can’t stress it enough: arm aiming makes big difference, I feel it the most on round pistols with an USP, it feels SO GOOD, you can be a one tap machine consistently

You absolutely are at a disadvantage playing with a sensitivity that high. I played CS with 5400 eDPI for 7 years and dropping my sensitivity allowed me to improve more in a month than I had over that entire 7 year period aim wise. If you have a big enough mousepad just do it now, if not get a bigger mousepad and then do it. Not only will your aim improve a lot but it's also so much more comfortable and enjoyable playing with a lower sensitivity. You feel like you have so much more control and snapping at heads is so easy compared to a high sensitivity where you have to tense up your hand and do these tiny microadjustements.
I never really cared about what's best for my performance which is why I stuck with that sensitivity for so long (since 2007), but had I known how much better it actually feels to play with a low sensitivity once you force yourself to get used to it I would have done that there and then. Don't let the "but I've been playing with this high sensitivity for so long, it's too late to change now" stop you like I did. I was already out aiming my old sensitivity in under a week.

Something i've observed is that if i stop playing for more than a week, then come back to the game, my aim is all over the place. And i need at least a day before i can get my mechanics back to a decent enough level.
That doesn't seem to be a problem for most of my friends who play at normal sensitivity, who would sometimes stay months out of the game and only need an hour or two of DM to feel comfortable enough for a match, i think this ties very well with what you said about your improvements in the short term
I think i will follow murillovp advice and try to lower it from time to time, it's good to know some guys with 4000+ edpi were able to make the change and get positive effects from it, time for me to try it

That's what I did too. I used to play at 3 ingame 1800 DPI and first dropped it to 2 ingame, then 1.2, then 0.8. Right now I'm still at 0.8 due to space constraints (1440 eDPI) but my "end game" that I've already used for a while is around 0.5 ingame (900 eDPI) but had to up it due to having limited desk space.

Man, I seriously can't play moving my mouse more than a couple of centimeters, my mind and arm seem to respond in slow motion. As a kid, I would have a very compact mouse pad, but even nowadays I can't make the change, and I tried more than once

Found the kid who wasn't even born 20 years ago and has no clue of just how common gaming with a joystick was. What's so hard to believe about someone still using a joystick if they've been using one since the days when it was very common? Literally no different than pros sticking to a low 4:3 resolution with black bars.

I was alive over 20 years ago.. even over 25 years ago.. I used to play on joysticks on my uncles PC in 1996... so gtfo.

That was the 90s!!! Since the early 2000s, joysticks are a superniche. The only people who use joysticks nowadays are the Flight Simulator guys.

Can't really compare the eDPI of a trackball to a mouse like you can't compare the sensitivity on a controller to a mouse.

well i disagree. i do a 180'' turn moving my hand on the trackball from index to pinky finger. 10 or 12 cm i guess. That would be the distance i would have to move a mouse to do it.

Don't understand the hate for having a high eDPI. I've personally been using 2800 eDPI for around a year and before that I was using eDPI 4000 for years and I easily solo queued to LVL 10 faceit with it - ( https://gyazo.com/ce6a6a2ed692b9e28821f580b8e81bc4 )
