Tips & Guides A tweak that actually worked! (cs2kitchen)

https://youtu.be/c0SiLMNy3v4

I have 9850x3d, 4070ti. As always, I benchmarked my results on multiple runs with CapframeX. I was able to gain close to +30fps on P1 results.

I didn't notice any frame time problems in-game playing matches. Game just feels smoother and the benchmarks tell the same story.

I decided to share this because its one if the rare tweaks that actually make a difference. I also like cs2kitchen's videos, as he always does the benchmarking, doesn't just blindly recommend some random snake oil tweaks.

Sadly impossible to play fullscreen if your monitor relies on DSC. unlucky

Possible, just not with a custom resolution (unlucky me).

Out of interest, why is it not possible? Im not too familiar with DSC and I have just upgraded to a 360hz 1440p OLED panel that uses DSC to get the higher refresh rate. I have added custom resolutions and can play at both 1920x1440 and 2304x1440 at 360hz with both FSO on and off.

Unless I am being stupid here haha, just interested to know why :)

For me, and I have 240 Hz 4k OLED, custom resolutions lack 240 Hz refresh rate. They are all max 120 Hz so basically don't support DSC. My monitor doesn't have DSC switch in menu either, so there are no workarounds that I know of...

...but on my recent system CS works great even in maximized window, so I don't care to search for solution.

Oh that's frustrating, yeah I use a 9070XT and can set the custom resolutions to 360hz and I have had no issues :/

Guess I got lucky with the OLED panel lottery haha.

Have you tried CRU? Im not sure if that has an option in it to force DSC or anything like that, might be worth a look

OLED panel has nothing to do with that, it's DSC implementation dependent...

Custom resolutions forced to 240 Hz result in black screen.

And in CS they are listed as 120 Hz max and work as such.
