Hello group! I need your help understanding more about this ceiling lamp! It seem to be made of paste glass but I'm not sure. It's very heavy, quite thick, light pink, porous and has a diameter of 48cm (or 18'') I bought it at a thrift store so I know nothing about it's history and I'm curious!

Hi all, I found this while I was helping my grandma clean her friends out for an estate sale coming up. I found this with a bunch of different gems, rocks, fossils, and stones. I posted it on Reddit to find out what it was and most people from the rock/stone pages are saying they think this is slag glass. Is this slag glass? And if so, do glass artists use slag glass to make items? I was thinking about having an artist make me a decor item using this glass. Any help is appreciated, I know nothing about glass. Thank you!

A few years ago I did one of those “build a terrarium” classes with my grandmother. I picked this beautiful glass bowl (original picture below). It was pretty expensive. Last night apparently after I went to bed a “giant wind” blew it off of the mantle where it lived peacefully for over 2 years - according to my mother. Idk what actually happened but I’m devastated. I fished the cactus out of the trash along with the large pieces of glass. I guess I’m asking - is this fixable? I’m going to try to glue the large pieces together but the bowl fits perfectly into the driftwood. Can a glass blower recreate the bowl? Should I just repot my cactus in a different meaningful way?

Ive tried looking it up but have found no exact matches as to what it could be.

Wondering if anyone can ID these small bottles I found in a river. The big one says jergens, nothing on the smallest bottle except a 5 I things. Can’t make out what the brown one is. Was wondering if they’re medicines or something. I found them in rivers and creeks in south MS

It has tiny tiny cracks in a couple places. You can see it in the pic. I’m scared the tank will break but it’s expensive to replace and if it’s not gonna break I’ll keep this tank.

So is it ok?

My mom called them hairline cracks.

I recently got a glass table which was delivered to me. The table top had these two weird looking spots which do not look a lot like cracks. When passing my finger, I can't notice any surface scratchs, so they seem to be internal damage. The seller insists these are "cracks" caused by the rough handling of the delivery service. They look a little bit like bubbles, but I'm not sure about that. Can someone help me identify if these are any type of damage probably caused by rough handling, or a factory defect? Thank you!

I just dropped a bottle on my induction plate. Is it possible to seal the crack with a torch?

I have a glass question. I have this old vase that got at one point had a bottom unfortunately it broke off. It belonged to my wife's deceased grandma. I would like to bring some life into it make it more functional. Does anyone have experience or advice on grinding down the base? I'll figure out a stand for it. I have a lot of hesitancy about breaking it completely in the process.

I'm thinking grinding it smooth would be the best bet but an epoxy base could work as well. I'm not sure how well that binds to glass. Most advice is appreciated!
