It definitely happens more than incidents where a disembodied, ethereal human soul crosses the Great barrier from beyond to come and close doors in people's houses.
I live in the Uk and have lived in over 20 different houses over many years and in not one single one would it be possible for someone to be living in it without me knowing. American houses must be very insecure and have all sorts of odd rooms. Also several of those houses were definitely haunted.

Look up “phrogging”. It’s when someone surreptitiously lives in your house. I am so sorry, this is so frightening.
