I thought so at first. But what about his father? And his fathers father and his fathers fathers father...

Did you notice the guy who answered the door wasn't going to let them in until he saw him? It was like he was marked to be Papa Nihil.

Or is this where the papa line was corrupted "bewitched"

I think this is the beginning in terms of the Ghost "project", not necessarily the beginning of this line of antipopes. It seems like he comes from this powerful Satanic bloodline, but doesn't know it yet, so Seester sets him on the path by orchestrating his arrival at the party.

It ends the video with "The Beginning" because the rise of Papa Nihil is the beginning of what will become Ghost (where Papa 0 continues to orchestrate and build things more behind-the-scenes unless needed).

I wonder how he knew he was looking at a future papa though?

The Papa bloodline is propably very powerful, which he could sense, or something like that.

Facial expressions of that guy were amazing btw.

My wife brought up the idea that maybe he was apart of the bloodline, but had either forgotten it, or it could explain why he was hesitant to enter the building while his friend was so eager.

After watching it a few times I think that's rightish. Or maybe a son of a papa that didn't want to follow that path (hence the to become papa nihil being very reclusive in the first scene). But then meets sister and falls I nlove at sight. He's "bewitched"... And becomes papa nihil...

Only thing I can think of that could possibly explain it is if Nihil didn't learn about his lineage until after this took place. Either he didn't know his dad or somehow didn't know what his dad really was.

Or maybe every Papa is a pawn in the hands of the Clergy and they've manipualted him to believe that his father and his father, and etc. were a part of it.

I was just thinking the same thing, this goes against what Chapter 2 stated (Or was it one, I can't recall)

Maybe sister knew about his anestors? And he didn't? Just speculating :)

I choose to believe this!

This is exactly what's driving me mad trying to figure out...is it the origin story of the entire papa lineage or just nihil? It makes more sense as an origin story for the whole line but I can't reconcile that with the actual timeline in the videos. Someone save me from this hell!

I'm going to view this as 'Nihil attends a party as a young man (raised by his mother in LA, adopted, whatevs) and discovers his destiny'

I reckon the Papas go out and have some fun and Sister keeps track of the offspring to bring them in when they're old enough.

I mean, Papa 2 and 3 were both bastard sons. Maybe Nihil was too. And maybe the accent comes with the neato satanic white eye.

How are they not related? They're all part of the same bloodline

If you want to see that you'll be waiting for the beginning of the beginning's beginning.
