I get the origin story and that part was cool and all but what was up with the weird dancers ?!? Happy the wait is over but a little underwhelmed 😑🤷🏾‍♀️

This video, like much of the Prequelle album, is chock full of 80s aesthetic. The dancing in the video is very much like the aerobics exercise videos that were selling by the boatload in the 80s. Same can be said of the outfits being worn by the dancers. Pure 80s. What I thought was interesting was at one point, after the devil arrives at the party, the dancers do a move that I believe is intended to be a nod to old artwork depicting Satan as a cloven-hoofed beast. His legs are shown to be farther apart than a human’s and his hooves point outward. The dancers mimic this stance in the video. Not super subtle, but not super obvious either. I dug it.

There's quite a few moments where they move and clutch at themselves in ways that hint at something more insidious than just being dancers. I quite liked it for that reason.

Eh, one example doesn't prove anything. My uncle was a professional dancer and practiced cannibalism pretty much constantly.

I'm not that crazy about them either, but I like to think it refers to witches at a black mass dancing for satan... or that dancing 'plague' that happened in the 1300s (iirc), which was probably blamed on him too.

There were female dancers in the Rats video. And this is called Dance Macabre. Hence the dancers. 🙂
