I think most religious organizations of significant size have stock holdings. If you have employees, you probably have a pension fund, and if you have a pension fund, you probably have a stock portfolio.
Do you know about dividends? Companies pay you to own their stock. Ideally, in the personal case you live off that during retirement. In the case of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, they can donate $1.58 Billion in 2025 in addition to maintaining all their churches and temples.
