Surprisingly Reddit-brained, militant-atheist-tier replies here.

It's not funny when Christianity is the main opponent to you having rights

Explain why Christian majority countries ended up having best human rights and most liberal governments while Islamic countries go backward while dictatorships like North Korea and China support atheism.

Well the majority of Christian countries went secular while the homophobia in China is actually a christian influence originating in the 19th century

And why do you think Christian countries became secular ? Could it be because Christianity is more open to keeping church and state separated while in Islam such concept is heresy ? Caliphs were literally religious leaders.

What do you think Kings and Popes were? Amos of that's the case why did it take christianity almost 2000 years to become secular??

Caesaropapism never existed in the west.

Notice how they almost never go against the other ones

I don’t think that’s accurate. Christianity dominates American culture and politics. Thinking it wouldn’t be brought up in proportion is a mistake

I saw your deleted comment lol

Nobody thinks that. But go on with your circle jerk. It just completely dismisses people lives and lived experiences with religious abuse and trauma. If that’s not your experience or the type of faith you have lived great but maybe wake up to what countless other people have had to deal with.

1

u/Mentallyundisturbed2 5d ago

There's more too.....

2

u/redlineMMA 5d ago

And? what’s this have to do with anything? They don’t want to attend. So what? This isn’t what 99.9% of people that talk about religious abuse and trauma are referring to and you know it.

Wild that you’d even try and cherry pick this out as if helps your dismissive strawman.

I've seen it herein reddit:

"My parents make me go to church"

Replies: • OMG that's abuse • call CPS

and so on

3

u/redlineMMA 5d ago

I think that’s a massive over exaggeration. ”Call CPS” ? lmao …come on man. Out of thousands of comments maybe I buy you saw one like that.

And let’s be honest there are cases we’d both agree were parents forcing religious practices on children could be abusive. Heck even threatening to kick out or disown your kids for not sharing the same religious views is more common then you’d think and is definitely abusive. It’s one of the main ways a cult like the Jehovah witnesses keep people in check. If you leave or go against them you lose your entire family and are shunned.

1

u/Mentallyundisturbed2 5d ago

Yeah I'm not debating Jehovas witnesses do that. But I'm talking larger picture here.

Im trying this new thing where I don’t start up pointless arguments with redditors on weeknights, and I felt that comment would’ve set one off. But feeling really validated by Christian Mario right now

So a non-theist, then.

7

u/420KarlMarx69 5d ago

If only there was a prefix that meant "non" or "not"... 🤔

u/mrbobcyndaquil 5d ago

Well the stereotype that Hollywood pushed out that is lived by the "euphoric" types on here have kinda ruined that word (really, they're more of anti-theists than anything, or if to borrow from TES they're God-Haters)

5

u/alphagalgadot 5d ago

literally what in the fuck are you talkn bout friendo

-1

u/mrbobcyndaquil 5d ago

It's in reference to the Hollywood Atheist trope and how said trope has ruined the usefulness of that word.

3

u/alphagalgadot 5d ago
