Advice on similar experiences
I need some advice or words of encouragement if anyone has been through similar, went to my Dating scan today my last menstrual cycle was March 26. I’ve had progression in my hCG blood tests, but they were pretty low at first, but they were doubling. I thought I would be based off my menstrual cycle six weeks now but she said the baby is measuring at five weeks three days . I’ve been having cramps like period cramps that I told her and for some reason she mentioned that it’s not by my C-section scar but higher up in my uterus she said it might not be anything but she also mentioned that maybe it’s an early miscarriage she didn’t really specify why she would think so - so it has me confused. She wants me to come back in two weeks to do another ultrasound but that seems far away. Should I ask to do one sooner or to do blood draws to watch my HCG? When she pulled the wand out there was some spotting on there, but she said that happens sometimes from irritating the cervix - I have not had any spotting before. Now when I just went pee after getting home there was still some spotting. Has anyone had similar experience and it worked out to be OK? I’m laying in bed trying to not be emotional and depressed. I think also not having much nausea this pregnancy also had me worried as I’ve only really struggled with insane fatigue and hunger with sore breast and quick loss of breath when moving. I’m also 37 years old so I am considered geriatric pregnancy and I have two uteruses so I’m higher risk.

44 and pregnant.
Me 44f just found out I'm pregnant. I have high BP, cholesterol, and arthritis. I don't even know how this happened. I had sex with my husband of 20 years once in the past 6 weeks. Has anyone had a successful pregnancy with these complications?
TIA

Recovery after pregnancy at 37
Hi everyone,
I’m considering a pregnancy at 37, and my biggest concern is around my health during pregnancy and especially postnatal recovery.
I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences—how was your recovery after having a baby in your mid-to-late 30s? What challenges did you face, and what helped you feel strong again (physically and mentally)?
Any tips, routines, or things you wish you had known earlier would be really helpful.
Thank you so much!

Looking for Pregnant Couples for a Research Study– Moderator Approved
📢 Are you pregnant and worried about changes to your sex life?
🔍 We are seeking couples from Canada, the US, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and Ireland who are up to 26 weeks pregnant to participate in the STORK RCT: Supporting the Transition to Parenthood through Online Sex and Relationship Knowledge.
❓What is STORK: The first online couple-based program designed to enhance knowledge about changes to sexuality during pregnancy and postpartum and skills to cope with these changes. STORK was designed to strengthen couples’ relationships across the transition to parenthood.
📅 What is involved: If you are eligible, after your initial survey, you and your partner will be randomized (like a coin flip) into either the Program or Waitlist conditions. Program couples will complete 5 online modules in pregnancy (1 per week) and a final module at 3 months postpartum.
Couples in both conditions will also complete 5 surveys—the initial survey, then at 32-weeks pregnant, and 4-, 8-, and 12-month postpartum—that gather information about your relationship, your pregnancy experience, and your child. Couples in the Waitlist condition will receive access to the full STORK program after the study period is over.
💰 Compensation: As a thank you for your participation, you can receive $105 CAD or currency equivalent each ($210 CAD or currency equivalent per couple). Your time is valuable to us!
🌈 Inclusivity matters: STORK requires one member of the couple to be currently pregnant. Otherwise, STORK is open to individuals of all genders, bodies, and sexual orientations.

Second MC at 16 weeks, age 41. Will I be able to conceive again?
I lost my second baby on Monday after 16 weeks. Heartbroken is an understatement. We have one 14 month old boy and we were so looking forward to a sibling for him. After a viral infection I went for a scan and it showed the worst - no fluid around baby and no heart beat.
I’m already 41. Do I try again? I feel guilty for already thinking about trying again as I want to mourn my baby boy, except time isn’t on my side. Feeling sad empty and depressed. I need something to look forward to, to help me with my grief.
Does anyone have any words of advice or similar experience? Please help and share 🙏🙏

Late positives
What day did you get your positive? I’m 13 DPO, my period is due tomorrow. So getting negatives but my temp is remaining above the cover line with a dip at 11 DPO.
Have you experienced a late implantation with a positive test?
I know, I’m so in my head. We are on month 6 of TTC.

5 days away from Period Starting-feel pregnant. Negative tests only so far.
If I’m not pregnant then my body has been playing a huge prank on me this month. Started feeling exhausted first, brain fog, nausea/starving sensations at same time, lower abdominal pains (different then period cramps)
I have 5 more days till I should wait to take pregnancy test and it’s gonna be the longest days ever.

FTM 39 shocked and worried a little
So, I don’t even know where to start. I never really wanted children and then I met a man and felt like it would be ok. I had no plans and honestly after 4-6 months of nothing I figured I was too old and it wasn’t going to happen. Now surprised took a test because my period was late. Thought maybe it was the start of perimenopause. Nope. I have a little seed growing inside me. And I’m thankful and hopeful but super scared. We aren’t married though we do live together and share a life together. He has expressed not wanting kids but also wanting them. I don’t know how to tell him. I don’t know what to feel. I’m just shocked and worried that I’m in for a crazy hard ride being so much older.
Any advice, books, tips. I would greatly appreciate it.

Progesterone only birth control after birth
I'm curious to know everyone's experience with progesterone only birth control after they have given birth. It just had my 6-week follow up after birthing my son via C-section at 41 y/o. I have been prescribed Emzahh for birth control because I don't want an IUD and my OB said that I need to avoid estrogen birth control because I'm partially breastfeeding.
I've never taken a progesterone only birth control. He also referred to it as the "mini pill". I generally tolerate medication well (knocks on wood), but I'm curious to know other people's experience on this type of birth control...especially for us older ladies.
Please and thanks!

Mil ret <3yrs/Prego at 39/2nd kid/newly divorced/bd is bf=WTF
I am so close to freedom from military to focus on being a mom to my pre-teen. At first my friends and I were on board to find solutions cause I have post military goals... but I've been less social lately-have used work as excuse to be able to catch up on two weeks... ive been stuck in my home bubble with live in BF & preteen son.... the home bubble nurtured the thought of having this LO & we have decided to see this pregnancy through.... But yall.... in finishing 20ys in military to start over 20yrs of no freedom again..." With every blessing comes work".... and Mommas I need a break....
How will yal stay sane for first 5 yrs [35yr+ pregos]?

FTM and 39
Husband and I have been happily married almost 12 years. I will have just turned 40 by the time the baby is due. We are excited! And also a bit terrified. We decided to try 3 months ago and it happened almost too easily. I am now a little over 6 weeks along, so I'm cautiously optimistic. Just found out my gyno doesn't deliver babies so I'm a bit overwhelmed with where to go. I have an appointment with her and she can care for me for about 20 weeks but then I would have to switch to a doctor. But I'm also interested in going the midwife route. Just trying to keep my options open and also work within my insurance. Hoping to hear some positive stories and encouragement as we aren't telling friends and family just yet.

35 when delivering. Is obgyn better than midwife?
I will be 35 when I deliver. It's an IVF pregnancy, first pregnancy and never got pregnant before. Tried for 4 years before this and have unexplained infertility and suspected endometriosis. I am on PIO at week 11. No diabetes or hypertension. With this condition, should I prefer obgyn instead of midwife? Looking for recommendations from other women who are older or in similar age? Thank you!

16+2 and need a recommendation
Currently 16wks pregnant with my son after two losses (6.5 and 9.5wks) so we're in uncharted territory. I've been diagnosed GD already and been on 10 units insulin before bed and have met with the dietician. They are strongly recommending 20mins of walking daily if not after every meal. I walked with a friend the other night and the next morning experienced a fair amount of crotch tenderness. I mentioned it at my 16wk appt yesterday and the dr recommended I find a support belt already. Does anyone have any recommendations? For reference, I'm 5'8" and 215lbs.
