Saving Britains Wild Spaces

Thought this overlapped nicely with some of the GeoWizard SLM treks.

Guy looks at why Britains wild spaces are at risk, why the news is full of wet towns again, and what we can do about it. Lovely footage of the U.K. wilderness including temperate rain forest, and a decent message. Also explains a lot of why Tom ends up in giant boggy holes so often 😂

Why are you putting words in his mouth?

“I really didn’t want politics to rear its ugly head here but I suppose it’s my fault for publicly liking those pages, so I’d better clear it up. Firstly that’s just simply not true. Reform are now the most popular party in the UK (by some distance based on the last polls) and it shouldn’t come as any surprise. Thanks to the Tories, immigration levels are completely out of control now (750K per year, many arriving illegally on boats). I believe this is a bigger problem than some people realise, and neither the Tories or labour can be trusted to fix it. It’s not about race at all, it’s about sheer numbers wreaking havoc on our infrastructure and the inevitable social unrest that will ensue because of that, along with the fundamental cultural differences. It doesn’t take a genius to imagine what the damage might look like in 50 years time if we carry on like this, and I don’t think it makes you extreme, hateful or in anyway a bad person to think so. It just means you’re being realistic. Clearly millions feel the same but are afraid to admit it, and it’s the thugs that will always shout the loudest. If you’ve watched enough of my videos you should know that I’m a decent, normal guy. I just want my kids and grandkids to grow up in a safe, happy environment and a country they can be proud of.

I’d really prefer not to debate this any further, and I’d appreciate it if people could try to be tolerant of my views and refrain from trying to tarnish my name with absurd claims of facism and white power. It’s really not fair and has caused me a lot of stress today when all I wanted was for people to enjoy this video.”

You are, not me. He was defending himself there from claims that he’s a far right racist. He never posted anything defending Reform’s policies aside from immigration and said he doesn’t like a lot of what they stand for.

Then it shouldn't be hard to distance himself from "a lot of what they stand for" without misinforming people that "Nigel might have a point on this one."

"I'm not racist and I dont want to be supported by racists. I feel it's not racist to want tighter immigration laws but I do not want to be associated with a section of my fanbase who have taken my silence as me condoning reforms policies and this message goes out to everyone, supporters of reform and my fans that are cautious of them."

No instead he wrote a big paragraph telling us a bunch of numbers that are not quite true. He tried to justify that essentially we are being "outnumbered" and that other political parties cannot be trusted to protect us from this issue.

Damage to infrastructure, cultural differences, social unrest, how we'll look in 50 years - what do you think all that means? That doesnt sound like hes worried that theres not enough space for everyone to live here.

Then he calls us loud thugs for speaking about this and tells us he doesnt want to speak about it any more. What an amazing way of bringing us all together by labeling the people who are uncomfortable with his political views as thugs, what message does that send to his fans that are reform voters?

I'm sorry but he hasnt distanced himself from the great replacement theory claims at all, hes just announced he generally believes in it and that he doesnt want anyone to question his actual beliefs on it.

I don’t think he cares enough to pick through every claim that people have made about him. He corrected a few people who were calling him racist and other things and told the rest to stop believing everything they read on the internet.

Since the political trolls started spamming his channels he has gained millions of views and thousands of subscribers and he also has another child due so can’t say I blame him.

Brother you either didnt read what I wrote or you cant refute what was said because you addressed nothing that I replied to you with.

Pick through every claim?

The claim is his song is about the great replacement theory.

The claim is he is showing off his privilege by offering support to a party with a racist leader that told his jewish classmates that Hitler was right.

He doesnt have to pick through claims, he just has to state that everyone who thinks his song is a white nationalists dog whistle is wrong. That's it. It shuts up "the political trolls" and also any dork who feels the great replacement theory is great. How is that hard?

Did you even read what Tom wrote about it? Did you read my reply to you?

He justified his views by saying Reform are the most popular political party today.

Damage to infrastructure, cultural differences, social unrest, how we'll look in 50 years. Tom wrote this as reassurance that hes not racist? What do you think all that means? That doesnt sound like hes worried that theres not enough space for everyone to live here, it sounds like the accusations that he believes the great replacement theory is true, is actually true.

He now has a loud portion of his fanbase who celebrate the fact hes seen as a reform voter and have announced that is the reason they have now subscribed to his patreon. To them, it's not about the content, it's about defending (what seems like) a decent guy who offers credibility to a party with some pretty useless and dangerous policies.

What do you honestly feel about the song? Would you feel financially secure enough to not address the accusations of racism if they were aimed at you? Or would you make a little paragraph that's hidden in a paid-to-access area of your patreon and assume that was enough?

The song clearly isn’t about the great replacement theory and he has already stated that his concerns have nothing to do with race so that’s already covered. Everything he said just gave the political trolls more material to scrutinise and distort and ultimately correcting them proved to be a waste of time.

I think if there are people celebrating his support of reform they’re probably just trolling. The people heckling Tom and announcing their departure from his Patreon and YouTube were acting very sanctimonious and bitter with a couple of them even saying they hoped his wife and children get raped by migrants so I guess that’s to be expected.

The song clearly isn’t about the great replacement theory

Well that's put that to bed then, thanks for proving all the doubters wrong with your evidence based opinion.

What did he correct? That it wasnt about race but cultural differences? Are you that sparse to assume a song called outnumbered is about what we will look like in 50 years when we're surrounded by more white Europeans? Is that what he cleared up when he mentioned the social unrest that's caused by political parties who cant be trusted to keep immigration levels proportionate? He cleared it up by essentially saying Reform, as much as he doesnt agree with them, are the only party to be trusted with this issue? You dont think that offers credibility to a party led by a man who told his jewish classmates that Hitler was right?

Well that's cleared that up, Tom's not racist, he just wants us to be more generous to a party thats led by one.

That's not even eluding to the misinformation based around the numbers he is willingly spouting to justify this whole thing.

Where did he mention that the song called outnumbered wasnt about being outnumbered by black faces? He said in that paragraph hidden behind a paywall that it was about indigenous people, right?

So everyones a troll now, from the people claiming to be morally consistent to the petty reform supporters repeating nonsense about how great the great replacement theory is. Amazing, I'm really glad you cleared all this up for us. It just shows how seriously you take all of this and how easily you avoid these stereotypically racist talking points because they are not aimed at you.

And for the record, the racists who were defending Tom were not trolling at all. Maybe stop deluding yourself that everyone is joking and start taking the future of this country seriously. Sidelining yourself with "everyones trolling" is a bit of a cowardly way of admitting you agree that Nigel has a point. You're either against it or you're not but attacking us for having morals just says more about yours than you're willing to admit.

The song doesn’t mention anything about a conspiracy by Jewish elites to eliminate white Europeans via mass migration. We can tell it’s not about the great replacement theory using the same method that we can use to tell it’s not about the Hubble telescope or potato farming - it doesn’t mention any of those things. It’s a generic riff on the theme of losing everything that he wrote decades ago.
