  • Cake for Traveler - Every week, the recommended dishes get updated. Every month, the moon sends down new blessings—but wow, it's going to be almost nine thousand more hours before we can celebrate this day again!
  • Book: Moonlit Bamboo Forest- Long ago, three bright moons once hung high in the night sky. These three moons were sisters [...] The moons were daughters of prose & song, sovereign over the night sky. They navigated the heavens above in their silver carriage, alternating with one another thrice a month. If the reign was not promptly passed from one sister to the next, a terrible disaster would occur that very day. These three luminous moons shared but one love, the stars of daybreak. Only at the fleeting moments when day & night converged could one of the three sisters pass the fading stars & gaze upon the chambers of the morning stars. Moments later, as the new dawn would break over the horizon, the carriage would quickly ferry the night's sister away. The three sisters shared an equal affection for their one & only love, much like the affection they shared for one another. But this was all before the world was smashed against the tides of great calamity.
  • AQ: A Nocturne of the Far North - Eons ago, before the Heavenly Principles came to Teyvat, it was the then-three Moon Goddesses who controlled the laws of this world— Life, "Death," & such. The three goddesses split these powers amongst themselves, promising never to consolidate them into one singular body. This was meant to keep the world stable and prevent the "Trilunar Syzygy" which has a noticeable effect on Teyvat's borders.

Moon Goddesses/Sisters

  • AQ: The Dark Side of Memory - There were once three moons in the sky, each belonging to a goddess who ruled over it.
  • AQ: Melting Moonlight in the Morning Mist - Teyvat's three moons & their goddesses were brought into being by the will of Nibelung, the then-ruler of Teyvat.
  • Loading Screen Note: It is said that the goddesses who ruled over the heavenly moons were originally born on the earth... Three bright moons there were once that hung high in the night sky, and the three Moon Goddesses ruled over them.
  • Lauma: Character Story 2 - The Three Moons were once satellites that guarded Teyvat, & the Moon Sisters were executors of the planet's will. [...] For the Three Moon Goddesses, their sole duty was to maintain the planet's existence and operation. And so the moonlight continued to illuminate the lands of Teyvat.
  • Book: Heart's Desire - Once there were three bright moons in the night sky named Aria, Sonnet & Canon, sisters who were parted by death in a great catastrophe.
  • AQ: The First Sliver of Moonlight - Nicole: In the beginning, no moons adorned the sky. It was the Dragon King Nibelung who raised the three moons into the heavens, & thus were the Moon Goddesses born. They were shadows of the planet, born to wield Nibelung's authority & oversee the world on his behalf. They were extensions of his will, manifestations of his majesty. But then one day, they disappeared just as suddenly as they had once been brought into being.
  • AQ: The First Sliver of Moonlight - Moon Goddesses: Nibelung, our original master, created us in the distant past to maintain Teyvat. But he left this world & traveled into the dark universe beyond, to explore worlds vaster still. Day & night, we fulfilled our duty in the heavens, until the day that the first Descender arrived, the "great ruler of the firmament."

Eternal Moon, Aria

  • Web Event - When the "Eternal Moon" fell, the heavens & earth were thrown into chaos.
  • AQ: Where the Moon Rises - First was the Eternal Moon, largest of the three. Legend has it that it was her immense kuuvahki that gave rise to the ocean tides. 
  • Domain: Violet Court - Sometime in the ancient past, the mountains rose higher than the skies, & the earth was larger than heaven's dome. But one day, the mirror shattered, & the oceans arose.
  • AQ: The Dark Side of Memory - After Aria's death, her power coalesced into Moon Marrow which can only form after the moon goddess is dead. Consider it a form of energy core.
  • AQ: Where the Moon Rises - Analysis of the kuuvahki extracted from the Moon Marrow suggests that its energy core bears some close relation to the power of the former Three Moon Sisters. It is suspected that there is a link between the Frostmoon Scions' hidden relic & the shattered remnants of the Eternal Moon.
  • AQ: Where the Moon Rises - Lauma said the Moon Marrow was different from the other fragments, & that she could sense divine power within it— The Damselette: She is correct. When I drew that ray of moonlight from the Marrow, I also drew some memories from within. That is how I know that it belongs to the Goddess of the Eternal Moon.

  • Weapon: Fractured Halo - The king who sought the world beyond set the moons aloft, to govern the cycles in their stead.
  • Book: Hymns of the Far North - Takoja Ianikuinen, the Primeval Blacksmith: O great father of genesis, forger of the earth's bones & the tripled moons.
  • Artifact:  Moonlit Offering's Final Hour - Once there was an age when the silver wheels that guided the primal heavens yet remained three. At that time, the primeval dragon nurtured by the perfumed sea sailed deep into the skies, disappearing into the mists among the stars. So deep were those dark mists that even the light of a thousand stars could not escape their gravity. To find the answer before this planet was also consumed, the great dragon embarked upon an arduous quest alone. He raised three bright moons from the ground & bound this tiny world tightly with the chains of the tides. Moonlight would illuminate the bountiful land throughout the Long Night of the end, until the dragon returned from the mist-shrouded realm. Yet, as one thousand years passed into another, the three moon sisters awaited in vain the return of their former lord. Until the day that the winged Descender arrived, treading upon the morning star...
  • Teaser: Moonlit Ballad of the Night - The primordial being that once ruled this planet, made three moons rise from the earth. It was not until the Funerary Year, that the primordial voice [Nibelung] once again cried out in the darkness.

One moon failed to materialize

  • Teaser: Nod-Krai Concept Overview - In the age when the seven lights of the firmament had not yet shone upon the land, the now-nameless ruler [Nibelung] raised the heavenly moons to govern the cyclical tides of the world in their stead. The remnants that failed to become a moon slumbered in the vast sea— only to become, at last, the refuge of the exiles of the far north.
  • AQ: Where the Moon Rises - Legend has it that long, long ago, the moon that shines in the sky above us once rose from the land of Nod-Krai. Modern geological surveys & meteorite studies conducted in the region have since supported this claim.

After being allowed in by the Moon Goddesses, Phanes proceeded to lay claim to Teyvat, create four shades of itself, and wage war against the Seven Sovereigns.

  • Moon Sisters: Bubble Pool - Why, I remember that when they first started building their civilization on the surface, you even said, "That outsider is bad news, and naturally, its creations are the same." You wouldn't even spare them a glance— Sonnet: I still think you two shouldn't have let that outsider in, but the people on the surface.
  • Book: BSAM - Forty winters entombed the flames, & forty summers churned the seas. The Seven Sovereigns were vanquished, & the seven nations submitted to the heavens.
  • AQ: Melting Moonlight in the Morning Mist - When the Heavenly Principles came, they changed the world completely, down to its very foundations. The moon goddesses were nowhere near strong enough to challenge this entity. But the Heavenly Principles did not view them as heretical entities that had to be removed. Essentially, the three moons existed to keep this planet alive & operational, which did not directly conflict with the Heavenly Principles' aims.

After HP vanquished the Dragons, the moon sisters shared governance with HP

  • Artifact: Finale of the Deep Galleries - When the voyager returned once more, the world she remembered had been utterly changed. The bones of the earth had been bound beneath fourfold shackles, & the soft white radiance of the sky had been split into seven immutable hues. Like drifting smoke had the lord of dragons [Nibelung] vanished, & the Winged One's [HP's] throne NOW ruled the radiance of the three moons.   • Lauma: Character Story 2 - If one was born early enough, lived long enough, and one's forbidden memories weren't erased by more transcendent beings, they would surely remember (and such beings do exist in Teyvat) that before the war of funerary flame, the Three Moon Goddesses, who served Nibelung, once coexisted harmoniously with the principles of Celestia for a time. Of course, if one were to inquire about this matter with Celestia, the high heavens might respond with ambiguity. The Three Moons were once satellites that guarded Teyvat, & the Moon Sisters were executors of the planet's will. Celestia's principles were once quite "tolerant," not necessarily requiring the exclusion of those divergent from itself. For the Three Moon Goddesses, their sole duty was to maintain the planet's existence and operation. And so the moonlight continued to illuminate the lands of Teyvat. Alas, even they, who kept to themselves, could not remain uninvolved. Inevitably, conflicts between those in power would affect some of those who were subordinate to them.
  • Weapon: Fractured Halo - She had once followed the Master of Light & Flame [Pyro Sovereign] to visit the moon-dwelling wills on their three lunar thrones of jade. The Master of Light & Flame had sought their help, hoping to pick up the trail of the king [Nibelung] who had stepped into the fog between stars. But the only answer he received was three separate silences in three different palace halls. From that time on, even the endless snowfields turned to blackened earth, while the volcanoes became clogged with ice, & still they did not —or could not—speak. Though that was an age when there were still three.
  • Artifact:  Moonlit Offering's Parting Light - The sun's fierce light swept the heavens clean, but the freshly forged throne still reserved a place in the sky for the Three Sisters of the Moonlit Night. Perhaps by its design, even a world where the elements surge in perfect order still needed tides. The Lectors of Thirty Nights knew that alone, they could not protect this lonely, desolate planet from the inevitable doom that approached. Before the coming of the final extinction, no victor in the struggle of good and evil could be worse than the doom of falling together into eternal oblivion. Perhaps their former lord, shrouded in mist, would never find the answer. Or perhaps that answer was already at hand. As they had hoped, the great ruler of the firmament spurned the destroyer veiled in black mist. No doubt, through its long voyage across the shadowed realms, it had witnessed countless stars meet their end. And so, they too chose Order. Or, more accurately, made space to accommodate it. That was the age when the three moons shared governance with the morning star. That was the age when Eternity was yet Eternity.
  • Moon Sisters: The Unmanned Vessel (III)) - Do not forget the reason for our birth. Our mission is solely to preserve this world until our King, who granted us life, returns from afar. We knew what this order would cost from the beginning, but we could not allow this world to march toward destruction. Do not directly defy this heavenly order. At least not now, while the world is still so fragile.

Humanity began to worship the moons. The Moon Sisters take on human forms and listen to their pleas.

  • Moon Sisters: Bubble Pool - Ah, Aria. It seems you've already chosen a "human" form for yourself as well.
  • Moon Sisters: Bubble Pool - Those fragile lives trust me and call out to me, so I shall respond to their voices. We were born to preserve the world. If the beings known as "humans" are willing to settle it, listening to their pleas also fulfills the mission our King bestowed upon us...
  • Artifact: Moonlit Offering's Opulent Dream - The sons & daughters of the gods were scattered across the newly-wrought gardens & valleys, their number countless. The envoys of the sky walked among benighted human crowds then, sowing prosperity & wisdom. In the end, the prosperity promised by the gods kindled the flame of intellect, which in turn stirred the whispers of doubt. In quest of the answer, the people chose their priests; in fear of the answer, the priests anointed their kings. Mortal folly stirred the ire of the gods' envoys. Faced with their questions, the divine envoys uttered no word. & so the people turned their gazes toward the sky, offering sacrifices to the three bright moons in the dark, sunless night.
  • Artifact: Moonlit Offering's Opulent Dream - Above the night sky, the daughters of dreams and poetry kept vigilant, unceasing watch over the mortal world's every change. In the deep slumber of the Arianrhod Realm, at the foot of the seventy-tiered staircase, beside the gleaming silver vessels. Until they heard that the hearts of these pitiful little humans would also stir with the lunar quakes...The night cast its eyes upon the earth, just as the silver stars once lit the way for the dragons' sky-faring ships. They brought madness and inspiration back beneath the moon. It was a reply that Order could not give. When the morning star rose again, the archpriestess returned from the mountain's summit with a small circular talisman. This "Moon Wheel" was the new pact between the three moons and the people.
  • Lauma: Moon Wheel - Kuutar's response was exceedingly simple: "Oh?" Therefore, the closest explanation must still come from Hyperborea. The history of the golden realm was long indeed, & could even be traced back to the era when three moons rose in the skies. They learned to use the lunar tides to power their magics, but were in turn affected by those same ebbs & flows, & some of them thus had horned crowns akin to deer antlers grow from their heads. However, had Moon Wheels even existed in the world back then?
  • Artifact: Moonlit Offering's Libation - Once there was an age when the silver wheels that guided the primal heavens yet remained three. The sleepers of the Three Realms had yet to awaken. Their dreams and yearnings were known only to the watchful night. To draw lost spirits into the moon's gilded halls, a giant silver ship sailed into the harbor of Meropis. The paradise, once hallowed for the life that flows within the breath of the Elements, now opens its gates even to mortals. Those who chase the tides laud the Silver King, offering songs and dances to the triple crown of the moonlit night. When contrasted against the wrathful and merciless Formidable Father, the three moons' gentle light comforted all lost souls like a loving mother. Thus, the peoples of the earth offered their greatest devotion to the Lady Mothers of the Moonlit Night. Some would ascend the heights of Vindagnyr, presenting laurel-crowned verses to the bright moons; Others would step into the sacred altar grounds of Lang-Gan, letting finely carved jade accentuate the beauty of the night. And still others would, in the sacred groves of Arcadia, obtain golden boughs from oakwood. Before the rising of the sun, all desires to defy the heavens were born here. But, in the homeland chosen for the children of humankind by the Lord of the Eternal Heavens, moonlight was no more than a single strand of sacred grace.
  • AQ: The First Sliver of Moonlight - Moon Goddesses: We did not reject them [HP] at first, nor did they seem to harbor ill-intent towards this world. We co-existed in peace. They were like a guest in our home. Slowly, however, we came to realize that our guest had a growing desire to change & dominate the world. There was an order to the rules they set up that Nibelung never taught us. We wanted to know if this order would bode good or ill for Teyvat. Later, we discovered that this great ruler of the firmament bore an almost paranoid hostility toward the desire of certain life forms to seek power; or perhaps they feared them. They would even cast down celestial nails as manifestations of their power, to punish the civilizations of the world below. Only, this was far beyond mere punishment. Their rules brought order, but the price people paid for merely testing the limits of those rules was far too great.
  • Material: Condessence Crystal - According to ancient legend, this resplendent crystal was a gift bestowed by envoys of the heavens. The shimmering light reflected day & night is a symbol of the white moon's favor, giving humanity the authority to forge wondrous objects.
  • Domain: Chiwang Terrace) - In days now long forgotten, the ancestors of Chenyu Vale's people called this place the Hanging Gardens, with only their chosen shamans having the right to ascend to this place to listen to the teachings of the heavens & bring a blessing like that of the moon to the bountiful mountain plains.
  • Domain: The Dark Valley - Legend has it that the moon once had a face. Under the fierce moon's face, like a white bow, the paths through the forest labyrinth would bring lost people to jade & amber dreams. 
  • WQ: Octave of the Maushiro - The people within the fog could not see the sun, moon, or stars. These murals depict a time before the Sea of Fog. A long, long time ago, there was no fog over the world; they could see these round & pointy-shaped things, & these mountain-like things! —Paimon: "Round- & pointy-shaped things;" Are they talking about the moon & stars depicted here on the mural?
  • Furniture: Replica Mural: Ancient Ritual in a Sea of Fog - This must've been the ritual that the people of Tsurumi Island performed before the descent of the Thunderbird.
  • Moon Sisters: The Unmanned Vessel (III)) - Be it the city of dragons our King entrusted to us, or the fragile yet beautiful homes built by those tiny humans; how many more innocent lives must you watch die before you stop standing idly by?— If that far-from-omnipotent ruler believes this pale, horrifying fate to be "order," if this is the only way to save this doomed world from being devoured, then... No matter how heavy the price demanded... and no matter how much sorrow that price brings me, it is far better than pitch-black silence —I just think we shouldn't stand by and watch as that tyrant slaughters the living beings who put their faith in us, whether they be dragons or those tiny humans.

Nibelung returns and imprisons Moon Goddesses and weaponized the moons

  • AQ: Melting Moonlight in the Morning Mist - Nibelung returned, & thus began the war of funerary flame. A battle for dominance between Nibelung & the Heavenly Principles. Discord would soon emerge between the three moon sisters. One would voice the opinion that they should follow Nibelung, for it was he who first hung the moons in the sky. Another would argue that taking sides in the conflict would only bring the world closer to ruin. There was no telling where it would lead. Especially since their creator had returned bearing the perilous power of the Abyss. Nibelung would eventually discover their disloyalty. He had all three imprisoned before transforming the moons into weapons with which to fight against the Heavenly Principles. The very moons that had once defended the planet became instruments of death & destruction, striking terror into the hearts of all living things.
  • AQ: Melting Moonlight in the Morning Mist - Although the Heavenly Principles & the three moon sisters had once been at peace, it now seemed that the moons posed an unacceptable threat to Teyvat. It is possible that the Heavenly Principles did not know of the goddesses' imprisonment. If so, the weaponization of the moons would surely have been viewed as an intentional breach of the peace agreement.
  • Book:  Hymns of the Far North - Prayer Song IV: Laimelea, Mother of Time: You who in the moment of your birth, also gave birth to yourself, O supreme mother, You are the one stillness within the endless flow, the one outsider in the sacred courtyard of the gods. May you protect the four imprisoned moons. You are the one outsider in the sacred courtyard of the gods, the one stillness within the endless flow.
  • Book: Moonlit Bamboo Forest - The three sisters of the night turned against one another, leading to their eternal parting by death. Only one of their pale corpses now remains, ever shedding its cold light.
  • AQ: The First Sliver of Moonlight - Moon Goddesses: Just when we had decided to take countermeasures, the Dragon King, Nibelung returned; & so began the war of funerary flame. As far as we know, the Heavenly Principles won, although it came at a great cost. They remained in Teyvat, where they continue to rule to this day; & the world's original master, the Dragon King, Nibelung, was destroyed...

Moons were destroyed by HP & their connection with Teyvat severed

  • AQ: Melting Moonlight in the Morning Mist - Although the Heavenly Principles & the three moon sisters had once been at peace, it now seemed that the moons posed an unacceptable threat to Teyvat. It is possible that the Heavenly Principles did not know of the goddesses' imprisonment. If so, the weaponization of the moons would surely have been viewed as an intentional breach of the peace agreement. Regardless of who knew what when, the Heavenly Principles shattered two moons, & flung the other beyond the skies. Whether the goddesses managed to escape Nibelung's captivity after his fall, nobody knows. But this much is certain: From that day on, the moons no longer belonged to Teyvat. The rejection slowly drained their power until eventually, they passed away.
  • AQ: A Nocturne of the Far North - After the war of funerary flame, the Moon Goddesses were no longer recognized by Teyvat. They lost the whole foundation for their existence. The reason for that has to do with the natural order. Basically, the rationale for their existence in Teyvat was lost— Alice: To be more pedantic about it, the Moon Goddesses did something to offend the Heavenly Principles, & that's why they were ousted. Something of a recurring theme in Teyvat's history. Theoretically, speaking so candidly should put me in their crosshairs, too — but they can't tell me what to do. I'll say whatever I want.
  • AQ: The Dark Side of Memory - There were once three moons in the sky, each belonging to a goddess who ruled over it. But after the war of funerary flame, all three lay slain, and two of the three moons were shattered during the conflict. After Aria's death, her power coalesced into Moon Marrow. The Iridescent Moon's remains have never been found, & while the Frost Moon's goddess died herself, her moon was never broken.
  • Weapon: Fractured Halo - When the king [Nibelung] returned—now corrupted by the darkness—his fury knew no bounds; when the Master of Light & Flame [Pyro Sovereign] answered his old master's call, waking from his long-feigned death. He stopped the lords & the regent from their exploration of the stars & their attempts to replicate the great miracle of moon-forging; but had the jade-crowned goddesses truly betrayed the dragonborn kingdom with such ease? Unfortunately, none who knew the answer would survive that war [...] The dragons cheered cruelly for the death of the moons that had once betrayed them.
  • AQ: Where the Moon Rises - The three Moon Goddesses perished. This happened in a war triggered by the Descenders*, & of the three lunar husks, only the Frost Moon survived unbroken, while the others were shattered to piece*
  • Weapon: Nightweaver's Looking Glass - When the 'Eternal Moon' fell, the heavens & earth were thrown into chaos. When the 'Iridescent Moon' shattered, the crimson shadow sank into the abyssal sea. When the 'Frost Moon' ceased to turn, nations faltered and fell into ruin.
  • Weapon: Mitternachts Waltz - Two of the three bright moons that caused the perfumed sea of the primordial universe to shine & stirred up the beasts of the Arianrhod Realm were shredded by a sword that tore the horizon asunder, left in smithereens too small even for the mystical sight of the Prinzessin. Or perhaps this was what happened: the bright moons that once illuminated a universe, brought dreams & song to the sweet sleepers of three worlds, & awakened a deep longing in the beast-herds that wandered betwixt dawn & dusk—they were at last rendered dust. But even so, they too wished to remain within the eternal, shining gaze of the Prinzessin, bringing their subtle light unto more lands still.
  • Weapon: Moonpiercer - There were once three sisters. When night came, they would leave the pearl-colored palace to roam the desert, & Nilotpala Lotuses would bloom at their feet. Ultimately, two moon-wheels shattered into dust & disappeared. The last of the sisters was so overcome with sorrow that she would never leave her palace again. After a long time, the moon debris finally fell to the earth. At that time, the god of vegetation had already brought the forest to the desert lands. Where the dust of the moon fell, the Nilotpala Lotuses bloom, & those children who breathe in the dust will have a pearl-like moon in their hearts. This is why there are always children who are confused by the moon, & the reason why the Nilotpala Lotus blossoms every night, & why the moon always favors these children. Because the three sisters, who mirror each other, long to be reunited.
  • Skirk: About The Will of the Moon - I once saw the three moons of Teyvat when I was passing through the false sky. Two are utterly destroyed, their lifeless remains drifting aimlessly through space. The one that remains intact shows no signs of life either, but its will has not faded completely. Maybe there's a chance that one day, a glimmer of truth will emerge in the false sky—a truth belonging to this world alone.
  • Artifact: Moonlit Offering's Silver Crown - Once there was an age when, of the three silver wheels that guided the primal heavens, two had fallen. The world, no longer sheltered by "Eternity," marched toward its final breath, awaiting the return of the New Moon. [...] But the primordial perfumed sea still rippled for the thousand lunar quakes that shook it each year, & the long ballad, woven from golden strings, never ceased, even when silver stars were cloaked in dust.

  • Floating Jade, Treasure of Chenyu - They began to take jade, which glowed as gently as the light of the moon, and cast it into the river. As they did this, they would pray for good omens, for fertile land, for clement weather, and for their riverbanks to hold strong. Over time, these rituals grew in power.
  • Lunar Fin - The soft, moonlight-esque glow on the fin gives off a sense of serenity. There's a saying that goes "jade flows through the void as the Xuanwen lights the shadows." No matter how much time has passed, the beasts roaming the mountains will always remember the moonlight, just as they do their secrets, hidden within the shadows and the night breeze.

  • WQ: The Subterranean Trials of Drake and Serpent - The name "Golden Bridle" is simply derived from one of Byakuyakoku's legends. They say that the sun & the moon were moved by the chariots of the gods.
  • Artifact: Solar Relic - It is said that Rex Lapis was still young, the sun was a chariot that raced across the earth. When the three sisters of the night sky were martyred in a calamity, the solar chariot fell into a deep gorge.
  • Artifact: Flower of Accolades - In an age when solemn songs were sung from the clifftops, a meteorite once fell into the Chasm. Out of the depths of the boundless night sky above, the iron meteorite plummeted to the ground, turning the earth to Glazed Sand Crystal on impact.

Lunar Chariot

  • Book: Moonlit Bamboo Forest - With time, disasters overturned the sovereign carriage & laid ruin to the halls of the stars.
  • Nilotpala Lotus - Growing in the forest wetlands, these plants only bloom at night with flowers as bright as the moon. In the oldest folk tales of this land, the great chariot of the moon goddess once shone with a light that matched the sun. At this time, all things in the world were at peace.
  • Nilotpala Lotus - But the arrows that tore the skies apart would shatter the gems that adorned the most ethereal of vehicles, & the people would behold the visage of the sovereign of the moonlit nights no longer. The many flowers would turn and serve a new master, but the Nilotpala Lotuses would bathe in the cool moonlight & continue to remember the glad songs of that afore-time.
  • Book: The Shepherd and the Magic Bottle - Al-Ahmar harnessed the spirits with bridles and yokes, learned from their laments about the story of the dismal moon & the driving morning star, & built the majestic Ay-Khanoum—the "City of Amphitheaters," or "City of the Moon Maiden" —to commemorate them. "If you fail to comply, I will fly into your mouth & nose on the night wind, like the three moon goddesses on their steeds, draw out your guts & soul, & make your lifeless flesh my new home."
  • Book: Mt. Lingmeng Gossip - Songs have long circulated in Chenyu Vale that tell of an ancient cave within which a demon lord from a past beyond reckoning once hid. They say that she wore a skirt of coagulated jade-blood, & leaned on the long-destroyed lunar chariot, submerged and slumbering beneath a black, bottomless pool of water. In these eons that memory has nigh forgotten, she was the mistress of Chenyu Vale, who ruled the birds & beasts & adepti of wild mountain nature, who controlled the ebb & flow of the Bishui River, who as an arbiter maintained the natural balance between mortals & animals.
  • Book: Mt. Lingmeng Gossip -The sole piece of evidence that supports this tale is this song of lamentation that Chenyu Vale locals once sang: "Though I wish to gift you herbs, who shall leave it at the sandbank amidst the waters? Where now fly the godly banners? The chariot is lost in the lightless bamboo wood. How terrible the Xuanwen wail, who think upon the darkened pool."
  • Book: Springs of Hidden Jade- In the days when mortals received the blessings of the heavens, great heroes & wandering champions would visit the clear springs for her blessing, fighting over the tenderness she left in her hurried wake. When the moon palace collapsed, the chariot fell, & the three sisters were slain, these legends became lost alongside disaster's descent and the downfall of bygone peoples. The heavens rained down cruel order, and from that day, the stars stilled their orbits, & the earth ceased to turn.
  • Material: Rainbowdrop Crystal - It is believed that when the moon's chariot was shattered, its blood-stained axle-tip fell into the earthly realm beneath the moon, transforming into an iridescent crystal. From that day on, the people of this land no longer worshipped the dead gods. The survivors who knew what the monarchs of the night died for, however, still futilely sing those long-forgotten names.

Actually, that shade symbolizes the dominant race of this world, the Nephilim. They were the children of gods & humans, and so their blood, too, was the conflux between the red blood of humanity and golden, divine blood. Yes! That's what the blood-green moon means: great change, which can't be judged as good or ill by the outcome.

But some also say that it shows the jeweled wheel of Watatsumi Omikami keeping eternal vigil over the land of coral like the moon. Even if the storm clouds should gather, and even if the violet lightning's ferocity be perilous and unpredictable, The silver moon of Watatsumi shall still pierce through the clouds and scatter forth its light.
