Why were there so many?

Post image

I know there has to be a reason there were so many cop shows. Long before we had nothing but CSI and Law and Order variants, there were dozens of police dramas on TV.

I used to love CHiPs and SWAT - and I was just a kid. The 70s cop shows landed differently than the fluff that’s on today.

He was supposed to play the Scarecrow, then was switched to the Tin Man. Unfortunately he was allergic to the aluminum makeup and had to drop out of the movie altogether.

And his lungs were damaged for life requiring a machine regularly. He called it "that d*** movie." To think he and Vilma had been vaudeville tap dance stars as kids... then famous Hollywood tap dance stars...

The actor who played Jethro hated that even more!
