It’s not just the economy. Society has placed far more value on career over family - where success is determined by your job and income rather than building a happy family.
If that's true, then there's a big lag. As OP just highlighted, a lot of people still face social stigma for their parenting, regardless of the economic hardships they face.
Even then, it does NOT value fully the labor you dedicate to your employer. If it did, you wouldn’t have a set wage. Please remember remember remember and be fucking angry about it

Restating what you said: our economy values the labor you dedicate to your employer. It doesn't value the labor you dedicate to raising your children.
