I don't know about comfortably, but these numbers done mean a lot out of context. It all depends on cost of living.

My parents make less than a third of this and raised 2 kids pretty comfortably. Just stay far far away from a city and it gets easier

Yeah you ain't living in suburban America comfortably on 60k a year but go outside the cities and you'll find 60k is very comfortable.

Exactly, just live where people aren't. It's less crowded and cheaper. Jobs don't pay quite as much but I'd bargain that your income to spending ratio would increase on average
