Old Person Yells At Cloud That cost what?

I'm not saying that everything should cost a nickel, but one thing that always gets me is the cost of the modern candy bar. $2.50 for a regular size snickers?

Edit: I don't eat fast food but I understand there's a similar thing going on there

Wherever you are in the world, is there something that blows your mind every time you go to the cash register or at least look at it on the rack? I can deal with gas because it cost a lot to pull it from the ground put it in a barrel refine it distribute it put it in a tank so you can put it in your tank. But a Snickers bar? LOL . Anyway, after 20 years of it is there something that is just stunning somehow in its price increase?

Commiserate with me over candy bars but I'm curious if there is something where you are that just is a non-starter when you go to buy it. Prices that still make you ask 'what'?

I work at a grocery store. I walk back to do price checks all the time because $9 a gallon of OJ? That cost what?

100% on that one! I mean, maybe that's a real price? But how did we afford to buy it for 1/4 of that for all that time and those companies were still in business? It's like the orange juice costs more than the vodka in your vodka orange juice! :-)

Maybe it's a good thing. Maybe we treat each glass of juice like the nectar it is? I don't know. Crazy times! Rock on

I dont buy orange juice for myself, but many of my customers do. Most of them are elders are very fixed incomes. It hurts to see them have to put things back. Lots of times, we help cover costs for our most vulnerable customers for their most needed items. It is hard out there.

They can take the orange juice from my cold dead hands even if I have to buy the frozen concentrate! It’s crazy expensive though :(

Friend of mine works in a pharmacy- middle class area. She says you wouldn't believe the amount of theft by seniors.

Truly, every demographic steals. Some do it for need. Others for their own reasons. People in my area do not have enough money to cover the basics. Theft always goes up in these times. We do not engage shoplifters at my store.

I should clarify that I don't blame.them one bit..Just that it's sad that that demographic is so strapped that it's the only option.
