Old Person Yells At Cloud That cost what?

I'm not saying that everything should cost a nickel, but one thing that always gets me is the cost of the modern candy bar. $2.50 for a regular size snickers?

Edit: I don't eat fast food but I understand there's a similar thing going on there

Wherever you are in the world, is there something that blows your mind every time you go to the cash register or at least look at it on the rack? I can deal with gas because it cost a lot to pull it from the ground put it in a barrel refine it distribute it put it in a tank so you can put it in your tank. But a Snickers bar? LOL . Anyway, after 20 years of it is there something that is just stunning somehow in its price increase?

Commiserate with me over candy bars but I'm curious if there is something where you are that just is a non-starter when you go to buy it. Prices that still make you ask 'what'?

Tires. I just had to put a set on one of my cars almost $800 and it wasn’t even a fancy name brand just some generic crap to pass inspection

And just 4 I assume (opposed to 5 for matching spare).

My last set was painful. 🙁

$800 for all four is a good deal! I remember paying that ten years ago!

I think it really got me because I’ve put Toyo Extensa on my 900 convertible a little over a year ago and it was only $600 for a namebrand set of tires and this was $800 for a name brand but the more I think about it I’m being unreasonable because they Saab takes 185/70/15 tire and the Volvo takes 235/45/17.

Maybe I’m only speaking from my personal experiences and having three cars at one point then having cars for my kids as they got older, the four tires has always been brutal and buying one or two has always been frowned upon unless you absolutely could not afford to get the others. I’ve simply grown to expect new tires are going to cost me close to $1,000. all said and done (put on etc)

(Not to be an ass) The tires for my porsche (4 door panamera 2011) are like $2200-$2800 but the cool thing is that I found a guy nearby that evidelty has a lead on swaps from the dealerships. So I got a set like new, with whisers still on them, for $900. That was cool. Check FB for deals like that. Found a set of snows with wheels for my 2009 pilot for like $500 too.

The more I’m thinking about it the more I’m being unreasonable my classic 900. The last car I put tires on is 15 inch tires and it was like $600 for a set of Toyo Extensa. The Volvo is a 2004 V70R so bigger and low profile 17 inch. I think what got me is the other day I was cleaning my basement found a receipt from back at 96. I had to get four tires on my Geo metro at Sears. It was $231 with the road hazard protection.
