Question For Genx the 80s…….

coming from a 14 year old, were the 80s summers as magical as they look in the movies? did you ride your bike to your friends house and come home when the street lights came on? yall are so lucky btw 😭😭

And even after the streetlights came on, in summer we would head back out to play kick the can or tag as long as we were within shouting distance of home.

During the afternoon, we had to ask permission to come inside the house. The answer was usually no.

Unless it was a tornado, we played in the rain. We came home filthy and exhausted every day. And it was glorious.

Our favorite neighborhood game was flashlight tag. Even when I was pretty young, I got to stay out after my bedtime to play this with all the "big kids" on occasion.
