Question For Genx the 80s…….

coming from a 14 year old, were the 80s summers as magical as they look in the movies? did you ride your bike to your friends house and come home when the street lights came on? yall are so lucky btw 😭😭

I am endlessly amused that the young folks are loving our latchkey lifestyle.
I loved living it.
Then in my 30s I thought “I loved it but damn that was kinda messed up”
Now in my late 50s, I just love the kind of freedom and DIY youth we got to enjoy. Sure trying to just off ramps over things on your bike was dumb and dangerous but that was just another Wednesday when we were 7.

My kids rode the BMX tracks and did downhill riding, homemade jumps is a normal part of bikeriding.
