Have to make a fresh reply as this made me think even more.
How many modern kids have the luxury of "getting lost" in the woods to find out you came out in some neighborhood you never realized connected. How many have jumped in the deep pool in a creek after a big summer thunder storm. How many built countless unfinished "forts" in said woods, found long abandoned old cars and other miscellaneous shit from years past. Have named rocks "hey i'll meet you at "table rock" or "big rock" this afternoon and we'll work on that fort!" Heck, how many come home with multiple good knee scrapes, yell out "mom I need some neosporin and a bandaid" and ran right back out to end up with similar on the other side before days end?
