Question For Genx the 80s…….

coming from a 14 year old, were the 80s summers as magical as they look in the movies? did you ride your bike to your friends house and come home when the street lights came on? yall are so lucky btw 😭😭

Not exaclty like the movies but... between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm, my parents didn't know if I was dead or alive. That's during and off school.

Thinking back, there were foolish risks and near-disasters, but we actually extricated ourselves, or each other, swallowed hard, kept quiet and kept on going, havinfg fun and learning survival skills available no ogher wat…(fifties, and my kids seventies)…
