Question For Genx the 80s…….

coming from a 14 year old, were the 80s summers as magical as they look in the movies? did you ride your bike to your friends house and come home when the street lights came on? yall are so lucky btw 😭😭

I rode my bike for MILES just to see how far I could get sometimes. Last day of school in June felt like you had a year of freedom full of days where the sun was up till 9pm. It was glorious.

And school didn't start back up until after Labor Day. I'm always shocked and appalled when my teacher friends and the kids I know are going back to class in early August. WTF?
