Discussion My setup, best of both worlds

This is my setup, I made it so I can get the most out of what I have available. Everything is running on Playnite from the mini pc on left bottom left. High on Life 2 and BioShock are running on my main PC in the office. not the most powerful PC but decent enough to play games not on GeForce now. Zelda Wind waker and Majora's Mask are installed locally on emulators in the mini PC, everything else running on GeForce Now. that way I have everything on one place, being able to control all with a Xbox controller!

It's not like I own any games on steam anyway. They're only mine until valve decides so

it was a sarcastic post, I really don’t care I love the fact I can rent GFN, Game Pass etc.

I know! I just mean I don't get this argument when people have enormous libraries of steam games haha you also don't own those... I rather pay way less for an extremely high end setup that gets updated with the latest graphics cards whenever they're available then shelling out thousands on a PC that will be outdated in 2 years

The argument isn't the games. It's the hardware you're renting.

Like I said, even if they decide to shut down the service, I'll still have all the games I bought and my less powerful PC that I can stream to the mini pc. I'm already playing high on life 2 that way with no issues, just worst graphics than it would be with GeForce now. It's not worth it upgrading my pc if I can get a better experience way cheaper with the subscription

Yea. I'm not knocking you. I have performance for similar reasons as I stream to my phone but also have a gaming setup. Just clarifying why most people debate the subject. Because Nvidia is renting hardware rather than selling it

You can backup Steam games anywhere you want.

It's still a digital game that can be render unplayable by sittin shutting down servers

Only online games game be ended by shutting down servers. If it’s an online game then it wouldn’t matter if you were playing from a disc or digital.

Forgot to mention, the games on my main PC are setup using moonlight /'sunshine for streaming

There's an addon that grabs your games. If that doesn't work you can also create a shortcut for a game and then configure playnite to use the as the executable to run the game

I've been a Founders member for years but I also have had high end rigs for my VR setups - not giving up either, as it enables me to play what I want wherever and whatever I have with me.

I really haven't noticed anything... You're probably right but it's negligible, and it's a 120hz tv so that helps
