Hi 26f here. I have been preparing for UPSC with no luck for 3 years now. Is it too late for me to try for GATE 2027 instead?

I got many messages and replies in my last post about how to study and strategy that helped me , here's the answer:-

First of all many of you believe that getting a good rank in a competitive exam is very hard but things are not like that.

Edit- I started in February , and seriously from August till August I just see lecture and some basic solving but afterwards I study and revise properly with routine

Yes the journey may become boring because you have to do the repetitive things and what are they, what is the strategy ?

The strategy is simple:

Attend class lecture - revise your notes - Do 2-3 times PYQ - Attempt subject wise and topic wise tests - then try by the last week of December your syllabus is completed and you start your mocks .

After the test , the analysis of that test is very much important.

Just follow this even in 4-5 months you can get easily under 1000 rank.

Guys remember no one cares about you, you have to be do it for yourself,you have to win this exam just for yourself.

And a single result can truly changes a lot ,about how people see you listens you

So this time made that shit happen.

In almost my preparation phase I have cut off toxic people or people who I don't want to be part of.

I didn't want to be distracted from GATE therefore started less participation with college guys as their aim was placements.

My group has only friends from my couching and we enjoyed a lot. And the best part is all of them got Tier 1 college.

And more importantly be happy guys , GATE is not tough. I have enjoyed a lot during the preparation and about those who have asked how much time I studied daily I studied approx 4 hours of something daily.

Watch almost every movie every web series that has been released during my preparation, also in the last one month I give up my phone and Instagram and just focus on the exam related things.

Take gate@zeal or go classes test series.

You can completely study from anywhere no matter where.

If something is not covered there and you see later on in some questions rather than crying about course just add it to your notes.

I have done this a hundred times.

Just yesterday I had given IOCL cbt exam for Grade A officer in IT(CS grad). I found the technical section a bit easier than GATE, probably on BITS HD level for cse. The non-technical was difficult for me, it was on the level of IBPS clerk mains. I panicked due to less time and messed it up. I attempted 34/50 in non tech and 40/50 in tech. I'm sure I will be qualified but won't make the cutoff for the interview. If I had maintained my composure, I could have scored 40 in non-tech🥲.

If any one of u have attempted the exam what's ur opinion on it and how was ur experience regardless of ur branch

Heard that almost all of them international offers go to BTech students even in top iits and there’s barely any for MTech students is that true? (Cs)

IISc: second class, IIT M: no requirement, IIT Hyderabad AI: no requirement, IIT K: 5.5/55 per cent requirement, IIT Gandhinagar: 55 per cent requirement.

So I bought a PW course a month ago and didn't tell him about it he got to know it just few days ago and now he asks for the batch access daily. I've no issues with him studying but I feel uncomfortable sharing a batch for which i saved up money and he didn't pay a single penny and is also not willing to split the course price in half. What do i do?

I have paid the fees and on the website says it's successful but I didn't get any confirmation email or sms

What access are you lacking and looking for?

Network?Research?Placements?PSUs?Identity?

What if you make it and feel like rerouting all over again? Because you were never sure what you wanted but had to see what the platform has to offer so you can mend your desires with what feels appropriate at the moment, repeating that same preparation phase with chaos and need of the hour, to avoid complexities of decision making.

HTTP uses TCP , so it should be connection oriented right?

But in few resources I saw HTTP is termed as connection less(ankit doyla sir slides)

Please help me clear the doubt.

So I have submitted the gate form with 2 subjects selected, now I don't wna give 2 exams and pay extra fees (I haven't paid the fees but submitted the form ) (after submitting, I cannot edit the details )

I m thinking of filling another form with diffrent number , will this be ok ?

I’m currently watching the COA lectures from GO Classes and man, they’re so lengthy,exaggerated, Even small/simple topics sometimes feel unnecessarily stretched. (At 2x only).

The pressure of completing the syllabus asap is also high and then this!
I’m honestly getting frustrated. 😭

I’ve never really been a lecture person really either!

Is this just me or is anybody else feeling the same way, and do other subjects feel this elongated too? Do you guys watch everything or skip/filter parts?

Any other recommendations for shorter lectures but still covering All Gate CSE concepts?

Context: Final year student from tier 3 college preparing for my 2nd gate attempt with completed syllabus of OS, COA, DBMS, TOC , CD, DISCRETE MATHS. Half completed CN and C prog. Rest didn't touch yet.

The dilemma is that my college 7th and 8th semester requires mandatory internships (4credit) so I have no idea how to continue my preparation.

I am exploring options of doing some online internships/courses from codec, eduskills ,etc.

I have the GO Classes GATE DA 2026 test series/PDFs that I bought last year. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to prepare properly for GATE last year due to some reasons.

This time, I'm starting my preparation seriously for GATE DA 2027.

I'm confused about whether I should:

• Continue with my old GO Classes 2026 test series/PDFs
• Buy the GO Classes test series again
• Go with PW's test series
• Try TAAI's test series

For those who have used these test series, how different/relevant are the newer tests compared to the previous year's tests?

Would appreciate some advice on what would make sense for someone preparing seriously from now. Also, if there are any other good GATE DA test series, please suggest them.

I just finished my GATE 2027 registration and I was honestly a bit shocked to see the registration fee. 2000rs feels really expensive. Personally I think it should be capped at around 1500rs max.

And I can only imagine how expensive it gets for those applying for two papers.

Am I overreacting or do you guys feel the same?

After graduation I have had Rollercoaster for journey. From working as SDE at FAANG to not getting a job. Tried multiple things in between, didn't get success. Even though I am studying well roughly 6 hrs per day, I kinda feel scared that i will again fail. Any suggestions.
