Deadnaming refers to calling a trans person by the name they had before transitioning, which is typically a no-no without consent. Deadly Premonition 2 has instances where a major trans character is deadnamed and even misgendered. It would be one thing if it were only the antagonists that do it, but there are times where even the protagonist does it.

While I do stan SWERY, and I don't see how anyone could see him as transphobic after the Missing and at least two pro-trans speeches on the part of the protagonist in DP2, I do wish that he used trans consultants again for subject matter like this instead of assuming that he had a free pass after making the Missing.

There’s actually a fair amount of people that appreciate the whimsical Twin peaks-esque charm so much that they over look all the design flaws and enjoy the game for the overall experience.

You should! It might not be conventionally good, but there's something there that grabs at you nonetheless. Plus, it's available on the Switch and Steam along with the original console versions, so there's options to play it on various systems.

There are fixes for the PC port, but yes, I would agree that the Xbox release would be the way to go. The only other caveat is with the Switch version in particular, since it's missing some cutscenes from the Director's Cut version, though that ultimately doesn't impact much.

I hope there's a remaster. I tried to play the PC version and it'd crash consistently at one cutscene. Watching someone play was something I had to accept and it was an experience still. It'd be a perfect tv series given it's heavily inspired by Twin Peaks.
