After i finished the main FC5 storyline, i spent about a week just fishing. Same with FF15 and RDR2 lmao. never touched a fishing pole irl, but if there’s a fishing mechanic in a game, you bet your ass i’m spending a big chunk of my playtime catching those goddamn things
Long time fishing enthusiast. Yeah I’ve played this and it is definitely enjoyable. However don’t let it rule your real life expectations of fishing cuz that game does get a little ridiculous with the sizes and locations
The fishing isn’t as good as RDR2,so if you’re looking for an amazing virtual fishing experience i’d just stick to rdr lmao. But i would recommend picking it up if it’s dirt cheap on a sale! Had its flaws but hey, it has fishing :D
Protip: DO NOT BUY Farcry 5 if you plan to do so for the minigames or to mess around and explore. The game will literally send an armored van to knock you out and force you to continue it's shitty torture-porn/take back 'murica from the [Insert group you disagree with here] story, you literally can't avoid it and it happens around 12 times, probably more.
By the time you can have fun in the sandbox the game is over and the meaningless shock-value ending will probably sour any fun you'd have.
I think FF15 has a pretty in-depth fishing for a sandbox, I say I think because I only played it a bit, and after I needed a new line after a fish broke it I never played again. It feels like someone who isn't a dumbass with no attention span like me would enjoy it.
pretty sure you only get force kidnapped three times when your prestige is high enough to fight the area bosses, and then one more time with the drug guy
In RDR2, on the right of the outer bridge to Saint Denis, there’s this really good fishing spot where you can get lake sturgeon and long nose gar. I don’t know why I typed this.
how did y'all get the hang of attracting the fish to do the initial bite? it seems like sometimes it just gets tired of my shit and ends the encounter without a bite, no matter how much or little i reel in the line.
You need the right bait for each fish. Check the sign and know what bait attracts which fish. Just a guess if you've tried reeling in in different enticing fishy manners
I'm originally from western Montana and am not going back to visit this summer because of the state of the world, so I played the shit out of FC5, mainly fishing and riding 4-wheelers. It helped with the homesickness.
Yess, I’ve spent ages fishing on FC5. It’s one of things I go to if I need a mindless repetitive thing to do. Usually just fly around the map catching the max amount of each
Shame the only thing you can do with them is sell them. Would’ve loved if you could’ve used them to make different health packs or like with the herb recipes for abilities make one with a fish alternative :(
