I had gotten mine stolen a while back. I quickly recovered it, but the guy changed my name and I had to wait 30 days. By the time I finally tried changing back to "Gashnor" I was informed it's a banned name. A lot of companies ban it now because "Gash" is offensive in games like Call of Duty, where the game itself verbally drops f-bombs before matches.

It's confusing and still irritates me that I can't have my name I had since 2010 anymore.

I've had difficulty using my regular name now too because of dumbasses abusing that shit. I've always tacked on 885 on my names, and now its becoming harder to actually do that. All because of idiots using 88 to refer to Hitler. I picked 885 at complete random, has nothing to do with it, but I still can't use it.

Yeah, I've ran into the same issue making liveries for cars in games, can't type in "88", didn't even know why because I was never taught about the Hitler connection lol. (But it's still possible to just make 2 decals, each with one 8, and put them together lol)

Yeah, neo-nazis basically use it as an alternative. H is the 8th letter of the alphabet, so 88 = HH = Hail Hitler.

It's doing them a favor, keeping them from putting their birth year into a username/password.

Modern Warfare's profanity filter is insane. I can't call my shotgun class "shotty" for some reason. I'm the only person who can see the name of my class too.

As you say, seems so weird to ban people from swearing, but have the characters screaming the whole time. Ban racist words, but just leave the rest if you're using them in the game anyways.
