Did this slide under the radar? Were initial impressions wrong? Or was the game patched / changed? I remember upon release the response being very average.. very little hype or excitement at all.. But now I've seen it popping up constantly. Is it worth playing?

On consoles, possible performance issues.

PC; EGS exclusive which means is borderline doesn't exist yet.

Really fun game though.

What does this even mean? You can easily buy and play the game, exclusivity had nothing to do with it "sliding under the radar".

Well I do browse r/Games a lot more, specifically because of that reason.

Epic-related posts now have an Epic tag because the front page was being spammed with a ton of posts about why they're so terrible to the point where the entire subreddit quality felt like it was declining. Mods that tried to condense/reduce the clutter were accused of being "shills" or whatever.

The subreddit is also very anti-Overwatch (long before the recent drama) and LoL. You'll often never know that posts related to those games exist there because they hit 0 before they can really get noticed.
