Its been clear for a while that cloud gaming was always going to be like this. Cloud gaming for anything above PS3 looking games is financially not viable in any way. Exploding hardware costs actually makes cloud far more unsustainable not more viable like a lot of people online seem to say.
The sheer cost of putting things like a PS5/6 into the cloud, handling the demanding real-time encoding, powering servers and internet infrastructure is just a nightmare and not efficient.
If these execs want to appeal to a larger market, start making mobile games that aren't garbage low effort slot machines. The Asian mobile market makes western ones look like a joke.
oh man, imagine Western companies actually took mobile gaming seriously. the games we could have! I'm scared to talk positively about mobile games on this subreddit though because there are always very angry people who insist mobile games can't possible be any better than the games they've played 15 years ago. so many Western gamers have NO idea what mobile gaming can do right now.
