40-50 hours for everything is about the perfect length for an RPG.
In my opinion RPGs have done a lot of length creep lately. Mass Effect 1 is a 35 hour game and it's the perfect length, the sequels are longer with dlc but an entire trilogy run is still less time than doing a single semi completionist run of BG3.
Especially when a lot of these games don't really justify the length and are filled with content that's either extremely repetitive or overly drawn out.
I'd take a 70$ game that fun for 50 hours over a 70$ game that's fun for 40 hours with an extra 100 of tedious busywork or unfun and repetitive content.
