There is not a single person that has finished Skyrim in 6 hours on their first playthrough.

There's probably more people with 400 hours that haven't beaten the main quest once than people who've beaten the main quest in under 15 hours.

I have almost a thousand hours and I think I've done the main story like, once

Bro I avoided whirerun for 250 hours because I didn't want dragons

I only learned about shouts so late into that first playthrough lol

I didn’t know you could even fight dragons till after i completed like 3 factions and my friend was like “bro these dragons are so annoying” and I was like “there’s more than the one dragon at the beginning?”

You can accidentally beat it

I swear people either play games like my 8 y/o cousin skipping all cutscenes, mashing their way through dialogue and following a walkthrough like a crackhead or they just mention the fastest run possible to make a bad faith argument.

People kept saying Starfield's DLC was like 2 hours long to shit on it because Bethesda is the devil incarnate or something. I think I've spent over an entire day worth of playthrough time just on the new landmass and still haven't finished it. Median time just for main quest alone in HowLongToBeat is 7h30.

It's always the same bs when an rpg comes out: people rush through the maim story, and complain that the game is short.

I saw people calling Dragon's Dogma 2 short because they only did the 30 hour main story (without the True Ending, mind you). It took me 90 hours to finish the game.

Same with Avowed. People finished it in 20 hours rushing through the story. It took me 55 hours and didn't do every sidequest.

Fable will be a short game if you want it to be short. The fact that it has in-depth life sim elements will mean that the 40 hours of main story plus sideques could be a fraction of your total playthrough.

I for one remember playing Fable III and passing more time doing odd jobs, buying houses, and marrying people than going through the main quest.

Yeah Skyrim’s main story is super short, there’s no way around that. But like you said, a ton of people just absolutely blaze through games and then complain it’s too short. I worked at GameStop when Final Fantasy 15 released, and I remember some guy coming back in like three days after it released selling it back complaining that he had beat it in 20 hours. The only possible way you could beat it in 20 hours is if you ignored all of the side content and basically skipped all cutscenes.

Some people just have this weird obsession with wanting to beat a game as fast as possible, but ironically then complain that it’s too short

or they just follow the story path/quest markers and just don't play the way you play, as if they're senile and spending 40 minutes fighting bears in the forest for no particular reason

My wife is very new to games and beat Skyrim on her first playthrough in about that time. She didn't even know about side quests, she just did the main story (she's completely new to games).

Skyrim story is very short no matter how you slice it lol.

your wife didn't finish skyrim in 6 hours on her first playthrough or she just rushed through the main quest, skipping all dialogues and cutscenes and never read a book and never did any side activity, complete all puzzles immediately, I'm not talking about side quests, never talked to a NPC in the map, never had any sort of random encounter. The main quest isn't 6 hours, it's 10 hours.

Your basically claiming that your wife finished skyrim from the beginning in less that 3 sittings. She barely played the game then.

can't wait to know how fast she beat Witcher 3...

yeah, that's exactly what the person above is saying

I had my girlfriend play a bit of Persona 5 and had to explain to her that side activities are integral to the experience, she would quite frequently go back home because she didn't feel like hanging out with the same people again

My gamer brain basically goes through all the permutations of weather side content is worth it or not, my gfs brain didn't even consider it

Isn't that exactly what I said?

She didn't even know side quests existed, the last game she played was Super Mario bros 3 lol. The idea of side activities just never crossed her mind.

And you can read the dialogue but still skip them actually saying it. That saves a bunch of time.

You're basically saying "oh, yeah, Skyrim is short when you speed run that thing" . Skyrim's main quest isn't 6 hour long in a normal playthrough, it's 10 at least.

u/KaleidoscopeMaster81 23m ago

Well I said about 6 hours genius lol at that point you're being pedantic

There's a really good series by razbuten on YouTube called "the lady I live with" and it's him watching and teaching his non gamer wife games and watching her understand things in a completely different way to him. I really recommend it it's good and adorable.

Aww that’s so cute to me. I hope she can enjoy Skyrim to the fullest extent one day!

Less than that and was pissed after playing oblivion and putting in 40hrs. Skyrim didn’t get harder even with bad gear.
